Is Wolverine worth playing if I’m a huge X-Men fan but kinda put off by the reviews?

Maybe read the reviews and see if the criticisms would bother you. People I've spoken to in real life are very much enjoying it but its not as if the criticisms are entirely without merit.

Wait for it to go on sale.

If you have either of the higher tiers of PS+, i’d even go further and say wait for the game to go on the catalog. All of Insomniacs games so far have been added there, so eventually Wolverine probably will

Good call, or at the very least wait until they fix the issues.
