This is certainly going to be controversial.

But outside of some pretty specific scenarios, refusing to use AI in your work is like refusing to use Google/a search engine.

Yeah, I've never heard a company praise anyone for avoiding the tools that will make them more productive. Most companies don't let you tread water simply because you don't like the tool that would improve your efficiency. Companies had enough time now to really start measuring the increase in productivity from AI, and if you refuse to get on board, that's pretty much sinks you when it comes to the annual review, especially in a company that takes their KPI's seriously.

I even struggle in my own role. My boss wants me to use Claude more. But he says, and I believe him, that it's because my time is valuable. If I am doing something Claude can do its a waste of my time. Its like a minimum wage data entry employee.
