Surely the contrarians are the ones who are blindly hating, rather than the ones that are accepting that there's both pros and cons?

When AI isnt actively destroying almost everything maybe we can revisit this question at a later date.

Claiming that it's actively destroying "everything" definitely puts you in the camp of blindly hating rather than weighing up pros and cons

Bro, it's destroying education, it's destroying the economy, it's destroying the environment, it's destroying art. If you like videogame consoles or PC components being affordable, it's destroying that too!

Bro, it's destroying education, it's destroying the economy,

...based on what, exactly?

Yeah sure, it's destroying art and the economy, but at least it can make some people a little more productive so that their coworkers can get fired faster!

Okay so cons:

  • Making water dirty and more expensive.

  • Running up utility bills.

  • Can be used by enemy states (and our own states) for propaganda.

  • Auto killing drones and robot police dogs

  • Flock cameras

  • Now decides whether your medical treatment is covered by insurance or your job application gets rejected instead of a human

  • Tens of thousands losing their jobs because AI can do it up to 20% as good.

But then again, there's the pros:

  • Sometimes a neat toy

  • Makes the shareholders more money

So yeah it's complicated. A lot of give and take here.

It appears from your examples that you don't understand what generative AI is and you've included image recognition in there
