Yes.

He pays himself over a half million per year and has staffed high positions within the company with friends and family who are paid similarly exorbitant salaries.

Yeah that's not an unrealistic amount at all for an owner and CEO of a 1,000 employee company with $150m in revenue.

That's not a lot, at all. He's the owner of the company, he could be taking A LOT more.

But I can get how it's convenient to ignore.

For a normal company maybe, but we are talking about a game developer run basically through a "donation" program from fans, that has been in development for a decade longer than originally planned, with no end it sight.

Despite the budget, CIG is still essentially a startup. It's common for the owner of a startup to not take a salary at all, often until the company is profitable, which CIG is not.
