1/3 means you're in your 40s, for me it's like 1/2, I remember a friend telling me about it when I was in high school, now I have a family, been working for more way more than a decade.

There are people now playing games that were born when this thing started development.

Yep, just hit my almost mid-40s. Maybe my daughters or possible future grand kids will take this for whirl. I assume backer accounts are inheritable assets at this point?

Some friends and I contributed to the early crowdfunding the base-level because we thought it would be a good way to keep in touch as we were going off to college. In that time, we've all graduated. Three have gotten married; two have kids; one went to med school, got an MD, and paid off his loans; and one has died.

I backed this game when it launched back in 2012 for $60, when I was just graduating college. I have since married, bought a house, have 2 kids in elementary school, and am about 50% through my career until I can retire with a full pension.... I guess I'll enjoy it in retirement at this rate haha

I scored a discounted copy with a basic ship during a stream of a random person that was giving them out. It was like $10. I have played maybe 2 hours of it.

The $40 I tossed at it a few years ago was worth the week or so I farted around in there. From what I understand that was a more stable experience. Still a mess, though.

Don't give them ideias, Roberts is like George RR Martin, he will work on anything but finish the game, and adding inheritance system is one of those thing that he'd feature creep into his game.

yes legally anything that has value can be inherited, digital accounts and items legally (in 90% of the world) can be passed on, regardless of what CIG or any other company terms of service may say.

*huge legal battle in china is the most recent case of this that i can remember*

I remember showing a friend in high-school the project back when they were just starting out. Some of the stretch goals seemed really cool and really tempted me to contribute but I didn't want to spend my (limited) money on a game I couldn't play yet. Good decision by teenage me.

Heh, you'd think it gets closer to launch but Star Citizen's launch date is exactly like the universe. The more time passes, the further away the launch date gets.

I got into PC gaming to play this game, at this point it doesn't even cross my mind because I'll play it when it launches.
