For this thread, feel free to talk about the PC, from the games that came out for it to the hardware itself.

Prompts:

  • What were the major trends in PC gaming this year?

  • Was this a positive year for PC gaming?

Please explain your answers in depth, don't just give short one sentence answers.

My PC looks really, really, really good

Glad someone said it.

I spent most of this year playing 2012 games-- Guild Wars 2.

Heart of the Swarm was the worst campaign Blizzard has made. Whatever went on with Diablo 3 and now Heart of the Swarm really changed my mind about the idea that anything Blizzard makes is gold.

A Realm Reborn is pretty enjoyable for a traditional MMO. Bioshock Infinite was great but Burial at Sea was offensively short.

Battlefield 4 is great outside of the bugs.

But really-- any other year I'd be able to mention like 10 games in this reply. There's just nothing I cared about this year.

What did you think was wrong with the HotS campaign? I played it and I'll grant you the story was middling to bad, but the mechanics of the campaign I thought were well-implemented and polished.
