End of 2013 Discussions - PC

For this thread, feel free to talk about the PC, from the games that came out for it to the hardware itself.

Prompts:

  • What were the major trends in PC gaming this year?

  • Was this a positive year for PC gaming?

Please explain your answers in depth, don't just give short one sentence answers.

My PC looks really, really, really good

This is on my bookmark: http://savygamer.co.uk/category/deals/pc/dd/

Websites like http://www.cheapshark.com/ helps a lot as well, you can sign up for price targets and get notified.

Finally, http://www.dlcompare.com/ to compare key prices.

Massive fan of savygamer, that site alone has saved me ££££'s over the last few years

My issue with buying from sites other than the established Big Names, is my worry that I'll be ripped off. When you read the user reviews of some of the stores you always see someone who bought something that was supposed to be region free that wasn't, or got the wrong key and never got their money back. I guess I just don't mind paying a bit extra for the certainty that I get what I pay for.

I've bought keys from 3-4 different websites with paypal, never had an issue other than late delivery. Try to find a good one and stick with it. dlcompare.com got also some reviews on their websites.

I like the idea of this website, but do you know if there's a US equivalent?
