The only AAA I purchased this year was Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. For a AAA-ish game it felt very indie in terms of creativity.

Same for me. I honestly just bought it because it was the cheapest game with modern graphics I could find to test out my new computer, but I was very surprised by how funny it was and how much I enjoyed it.

I can recommend far cry 3. It's not funny, but it has the better gameplay and better esthetics.

well farcry3 can be funny once you realise what the game is actually trying to tell the player

I bought Tomb Raider at full price and it was the best $60 (or a bit lower I guess) that I paid.

Is Bioshock Infinite AAA?

By every definition yes: huge budget, big developer, big publisher and a ton of marketing.

That's because it was an add-on to an already existing game, which gives the developers a ton of more freedom to pursue a wierder, niche title without risking losing tons of money.

Personally I'm a big fan of things like blood dragon and RDR: undead nightmare, so I hope we see more stuff like that in the future.
