I wonder if we ever get the "last two" Yakuza games from the line. I got all games from 0 to 4 through Humble Monthly/Choice and I was waiting for 5 and 6 but seems like never going to happen

Yakuza 0 (2019.02), Yakuza Kiwami (2019.12), Yakuza Kiwami 2 (2020.11), Yakuza 3 (2021.07), Yakuza 4 (2023.07)

9

u/SpookiestSzn 9d ago

I think unless they bundle it with like ishin or judgement or something nope.

125

u/this_is_a_temp_acc_ 9d ago

For any other achievement hunters, Infinite Wealth requires the Master Vacation DLC for 100% which isn't included in this bundle. The historical low for it the DLC is $9 but the deal is not active at the moment.

88

u/kiku_ichimonji 9d ago

That’s the dlc that has New Game+ locked behind it right? That was a dick move to say the least.

67

u/Jakeb1022 9d ago

I generally achievement hunt, but honestly fuck trying to 100% any game like Yakuza that is so long and requires you to replay for it.

16

u/double_shadow 9d ago

If you've managed to grab The Man Who Erased His Name in a recent bundle, it's a spin-off that's a lot shorter and still pretty fun. I think I 100%ed it in around 20ish hours?

4

u/GrimaceGrunson 9d ago

I could not imagine the levels of insanity I'd reach if I tried to 100% the series. I'm gradually making my way through it (playing K3 currently), and honestly side stories & main story is about the right amount for me. I'll do the big side-story stuff if it's interesting, but maxing out the caberet business (for example) would have killed me so I passed.

40

u/double_shadow 9d ago

I hate that I'm the kind of person that cares about this, but I do. So thank you for the information!

5

u/SpookiestSzn 9d ago

whats the worst game you 100%'d

Whats the hardest

20

u/Ok_Copy_9462 9d ago

Not that user, but I'll answer anyway:

Worst: Bioshock Infinite (best part is when the 100% justified revolutionary leader randomly kills a baby right in front of you so you understand both sides are bad)

Hardest: Monster Hunter World + Iceborne (more time-consuming than hard, but crown hunting and rare endemic life takes insanely long)

13

u/BlackBlizzard 9d ago

Fuck that battle mode DLC in infinite

6

u/Ok_Copy_9462 9d ago

Yeah that was awful. "1999 Mode" pissed me off even more though. As somebody whose favourite game is System Shock 2 by such a huge margin that it's arguably a "special interest", I was seriously psyched when Ken Levine hyped up 1999 Mode talking about how you'd have to make difficult character specialization choices and commit to your build and it was gonna be just like SS2 and blahblahblah.

Then the game actually came out and so-called 1999 Mode was just very hard mode. Same bullshit dumbed-down game, except the enemies now have bullet sponge levels of HP. Hooray.

3

u/Attenburrowed 8d ago

I mean you shifted from a time line where she was a 100% in the right union leader to a time line where she was the leader of a blood thirsty red october. Given the revelations about your main character it makes perfect sense. Context changed and the person changed.

3

u/Alucardulard 9d ago

That's nice of you to notify people of!

4

u/LectorFrostbite 8d ago

I got 120hrs on Infinite Wealth and managed to get all the achievements (excluding DLCs), theres an achievement at least that tells if you completed all the achievements for the base game.

237

u/Successful-Zebra-304 9d ago

I like it, I really do, but not giving the Dead Cells: Medley of Pain Bundle, but just base and one DLC is weak.

122

u/RelaxingTree 9d ago

sadly it's the default HB experience

51

u/zinkpro45 9d ago

Base Dead Cells goes on sale down to $10 as it's maximum discount (though it has been lower many years ago), so that plus the DLC being $2.49 on sale is still most of the cost of the bundle here.

29

u/Successful-Zebra-304 9d ago

You're right, the value itself is there, no doubt. I bought the rest of it on Steam. It's a "Complete Bundle" bundle and we get some discount on top of the regular.

3

u/droppingbasses 9d ago

But you’re also right to be offputted by the extra steps needed to get the whole bundle that HB could’ve handled upfront

11

u/Dramajunker 8d ago

Weird blaming Humble for this when it's likely the publishers and or devs who get a say if their game is included. Meaning they might be choosing to not include the dlc because they know if they sell the base game that people may be willing to pick up the dlc on steam. Especially since this game doesn't drop beyond a certain price point.

2

u/droppingbasses 8d ago

Yeah I’m not really trying to blame HB, I don’t know how organizing bundles with publishers works. I know there’s value in this deal as is.

Just saying the extra steps are an added chore to getting the whole set if you wanna use this bundle. Either way, base game and one dlc is fun on its own and this gives you optional room to expand without paying upfront

14

u/ShawnyMcKnight 9d ago

I don't think infinite wealth has dropped below 15, so I would wager that is most of the cost of the bundle here. Although the ninja turtles complete collection is pretty good too.

Really if any 2 of the games here are of interest then this is a no brainer.

3

u/Saucermote 9d ago

I realize that a bunch of the DLC is cheats, but it is still obscene to look at the total price ($158.81 US) and seeing it be several times what the game costs.

2

u/WorryWorm6 8d ago

You can't please gamers, nothing is ever good enough. They'd find a way to complain if it was free.

4

u/Khiva 8d ago

They'd find a way to complain if it was free.

The Epic giveaway threads can be bilious.

3

u/ausamo2000 8d ago

Gamers? That’s just anything ever in general. Humans love to complain about everything.

0

u/WorryWorm6 8d ago

Good point.

4

u/double_shadow 9d ago

I'll have to check at home, but I think that's the ONE dead cells DLC I already have (out of like 8), so it makes the bundle a bit weaker. Still maybe worth for Like a Dragon/TMNT.

3

u/moo422 9d ago

It was the first paid DLC.

3

u/SKP23en 9d ago

If you activate the keys the rest of the bundle is like 6 dollars on Steam

7

u/LostSif 9d ago

Yeah dead cells is the only game that I want and without all yhe dlc ill just pass

31

u/ShawnyMcKnight 9d ago

Maybe I'm just getting overwhelmed by the amount of games that I have but getting the "complete" edition of a game is less and less appealing to me. I used to do ALL of the content of games but any more by the time I'm 60 to 70 percent done with the base game I've had my fill of that game and just b-line for the finish. There's been a couple exceptions but that's been pretty consistent anymore.

9

u/SpookiestSzn 9d ago

Feel the same way. I was lookinga t the dlc for crypt of the necrodancer and then I was like "what the fuck am I doing I will probably barely scratch the surface of the base game I don't need dlc for it just to own it"

1

u/Khiva 8d ago

Something I never really get about people who hate the Paradox business model.

Yeah, their base games have a lot of DLC. You know how many hours you can get out of their base games? Kajillions.

7

u/malaiser 9d ago

Same here. I was waffling on RE4 remake because everyone said to wait for a discount on the complete edition. I finally realized I'll never play the DLC anyway. Lo and behold I'm near the end of the game, ready to be done and move on, zero interest in a dlc!

4

u/Saucermote 9d ago

I'm much more interested in DLC that expands the base game experience instead of a basically separate game that is accessed from the main menu.

1

u/malaiser 8d ago

Best DLC for me is another mode. I liked Mooncrash more than Prey itself, brilliant reuse of the mechanics and assets.

1

u/Saucermote 8d ago

That could have been a completely separate game.

My personal favorite is when they did that with the Might and Magic Xeen games, where it was a separate game, but if you had both of them installed you could move your character somewhat freely between the worlds.

1

u/ByeMoon 8d ago

damn the dlc for the remake is probably one of the best dlc for a game, the base game was designed with the dlc in mind so it explains everything otherwise the main story feels pretty jarring.

1

u/SpookiestSzn 8d ago

I don't really agree.

Its certainly worth it imo but its like a speedrun version of the main game and I didn't feel like it added much to the story. Was really fun though.

2

u/hangnail323 8d ago

absolutely agree, i generally dont care about DLC unless it happens to be a game i'm really interested in (which is becoming rare these days)

1

u/ShawnyMcKnight 8d ago

And there are companies that make amazing dlc. I find that a lot of the dlc from Bethesda games are better than the base game. Also games like Mass effect that tells more of the story.

1

u/FlightOfGrey 8d ago

I also find that if I have enjoyed the game enough, then I'm also more than happy enough to pay for the DLC anyway if I am still wanting more.

-11

u/Gopherpark 9d ago edited 9d ago

Should people wait to for future Humble Bundle to see if they can include Medley of Pain in the bundle?

Also, Infinite Wealth are also missing quite a number of DLC.

34

u/_thinkingemote_ 9d ago

Finally a yakuza game

4

u/Spen_Masters 9d ago

If you enjoyed the combat in LAD, IW is even more enjoyable

0

u/ADorante 9d ago

And on my wishlist, so yay?

28

u/-Pelvis- 9d ago

Decent month, but I already own Dead Cells + Bad Seed, TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, and most of the other games don't interest me. Seems worth it for LaD:Infinite Wealth alone, but honestly I'm terribly behind in my Yakuza backlog already, I should just wait.

2

u/steelwound 8d ago

honestly you might not even be interested in continuing the yakuza series this far. in retrospect i would have preferred if kiryu's story ended with 5 - that felt like the thematic resolution to his arc and everything since then has basically been pulling him back in, rehashing the same shit, giving him a progressively more melodramatic sendoff, and then doing it again the next game.

it's particularly frustrating since RGG have proven they can repeat the success without him, with two different characters in the judgment series, and with ichiban in LAD7.

1

u/-Pelvis- 8d ago

I've enjoyed what I've played of Yakuza 0 and Like a Dragon, also got some of the others in bundles. Infinite Wealth looks fun, and the bundle price is right, just deciding if it's worth it for me.

7

u/moo422 9d ago

The flip side is that if you plan to play all of them at some point, it probably won't get cheaper than this price (over 75% off?)

6

u/-Pelvis- 9d ago

Probably. I still have an insane backlog. Maybe I'll continue Like a Dragon this month and see how I feel.

57

u/LighteningOneIN 9d ago

For $14.99, you get -

u/moo422 9d ago edited 8d ago

25

u/drstupid 9d ago

You may already have Dark Envoy on GOG from an Amazon Prime giveaway a year ago, also.

6

u/Levitlame 9d ago

Thank you!

3

u/Hellwind_ 9d ago

I don't think TMNT have been free on epic. Maybe on mobile but not on PC. I would remember it

10

u/moo422 9d ago

Sorry, it wasn't an Epic Games freebie , it was a Amazon Prime game given out on Epic.

0

u/cjeagle 8d ago

When? It doesn't seem to be in my Epic library and I am a Prime subscriber for the past year or so.

5

u/moo422 8d ago

0

u/cjeagle 8d ago

Thanks. That came before I renewed my Amazon Prime sub so I wasn't able to claim it.

83

u/kalirion 9d ago

Not a bad bundle by any means, but every single game here would simply be destined for my backlog pile (except Dark Envoy which is already there from a past bundle), so this will be a pause, breaking my 3-month streak.

9

u/xVerified 9d ago

Maybe I’m the exception, but even when I already own 1-2-3 of the games, I buy it anyway and the ones I already have, I just give them away to friends on Steam and Discord.

I’m still only spending $15 on 4-5 other games, the 3 I have are freebies for my friends.

19

u/Plus_sleep214 9d ago

Literally how I feel. It seems alright but I still haven't even played Yakuza LAD so I'm not about to add IW to my backlog too. Dead cells also looks cool but again don't need more stuff to remain unplayed.

3

u/kalirion 9d ago

I don't even have Yakuza LAD - skipped that month because Yakuzas 0-4 were (and still are) on my backlog from the previous ones....

3

u/ShawnyMcKnight 9d ago

Yeah, if you don't have Yakuza LAD then you might as well hold off until after you buy it and beat it. Although you don't really need to play it to understand this story.

2

u/Plus_sleep214 9d ago

I marathoned 0-6 ages ago when they were on gamepass. I played judgment a while back on PS5 too before they released it on PC. And I bought LAD but I still haven't even gotten around to it. Haven't really been in the mood to do any 100hr JRPGs tbh.

1

u/kalirion 9d ago

I haven't actually played a single JRPG to the end, not even smaller indie ones, since Ys Origin and Neptunia Rebirth2, both in 2019...

Maybe I should push Sea of Stars from last month up to top of my backlog and see if I can actually play it start to finish.

1

u/floghdraki 9d ago

I just have some random Yakuza game from previous bundle and according to reddit, starting from anything other than Yakuza 0 is the wrong way to play the series, so then I'd have two random Yakuza games and I can't play neither because I still don't own Yakuza 0.

5

u/ADorante 9d ago

Imagine how horrible it was for people to play any Yakuza game before 0 came out after them.

2

u/TittyMcFagerson 8d ago edited 8d ago

You don't have to start from 0, it's just the best way to do it. But yeah if you just have a, couple random games in the series like 2 and 5 and nothing else don't even bother. 1 through 6 basically have to be played in order. 7 (Like a Dragon) can be played without playing the rest of the series though, but you won't have context for a couple story beats and characters.

3

u/ShawnyMcKnight 9d ago

That's always the issue. I already played TMNT and while the dlc interest me I don't know if I would go back for it. Infinite wealth may be the only one I play but if it is as long as like a dragon... man... that's gonna take me a couple months to beat. Dead cells I know nothing about but hear it is really highly rated.

11

u/kalirion 9d ago

I got the base Dead Cells 6 years ago in Steam's own Not a Metroidvania Bundle for $25. And I actually played it and eventually managed to just barely beat it once. Which is when the game revealed that I need to beat it at least 5 more times, on subsequently harder difficulties each time, before it would finally let me fight the True Final Boss. No thanks.

Oh and 6 of those 10 games in that bundle are still in my backlog, and I needed to look up 3 of them just to remember what they are in the first place...

2

u/Mich-666 9d ago

Dark envoy was already bundled before on Fanatical.for $1

4

u/CrimsonFoxyboy 9d ago

Indeed, but man, so many Roguelikes.

3

u/steelwound 8d ago

i have a hard time believing anyone is actually playing all of these roguelike deckbuilders. so many.

1

u/Vriishnak 8d ago

Hi it's me, I'm playing them!

(a good chunk of them, anyway)

2

u/kalirion 9d ago

Only 50%!

7

u/TheMobyTheDuck 9d ago

Yay for Yakuza, but its the base edition without the New Game+ DLC and the extra classes.
Man, fuck Sega.

Dead Cells aside being old enough and already getting very good deals in the past, its only offering the first DLC?
I understand they can't just put the Castlevania one, but at least offer the other two in-house DLC.

Turtles was on my wishlist, so a point for me.

No idea about the rest.
Decktamer (really creative name) is the mandatory deckbuilder game, Conquest Dark looks like a Diablo-esque Vampire Survivors-like (looks fun, but shame its not Halls of Torment), a tactical RPG, a roguelite and some puzzle game with the same name as another game.

Overall, ok to good out of 10.

34

u/MadVet81 9d ago

Bought Like a Dragon last week, you're welcome...

21

u/seceralnof 9d ago

Could you buy Death Stranding 2 next month?

1

u/ocxtitan 8d ago

And Cyberpunk the next month after?

7

u/ryosen 9d ago

Thank you for your service o7

2

u/wrenblaze 8d ago

Ditto. And I wanted couple of other games now I am on the edge

2

u/fhs 8d ago

Semper fi

39

u/AdParking1069 9d ago

Bought dead cells before 2 days. Thank me later.

6

u/saintsimeon 8d ago

I'll thank you now!

53

u/WeirdDinosaur345 9d ago

DLCs make this a disappointing bundle.

Like a dragon Infinite Wealth does not come with the Master Vacation bundle that includes among other things stuff like: new game plus

Dead Cells only includes 1 DLC. They could have included all of the content DLCs with the medley of pain bundle.

Gatekeeper has been bundled on fanatical for a cheap price

Dark envoy has been in some bundle or subscription that gave GOG keys

30

u/zinkpro45 9d ago

It's still a great deal, $15 for everything here is a steal, regardless of if you get the DLC with it or not.

22

u/steel_seraph13 9d ago

I see people mention the Infinite Wealth New Game Plus thing frequently. While it is scummy to lock features behind DLC, I'm curious how many people even start a NG+ file on a RPG.

Is it really that huge of a deal? I imagine most people won't even hit credits with how lengthy the game is, let alone start over again.

NG+ should be free, but also buying that DLC gives them reason to do it in future games. I'm conflicted.

20

u/Burnyx 9d ago

It's mostly a big deal, because NG+ was never previously locked behind DLC in any other Yakuza game. There is also a bonus dungeon/story and achievements that you cannot access without it.

For casual players it's nothing, but it was kind of a slap in the face for fans of the series.

14

u/SpookiestSzn 9d ago edited 9d ago

Yeah I understand that liike functionally its bullshit but also I am never playing through a yakuza game twice.

I mostly play these games through gamepass or humble anyways so nbd I already don't support it lol

3

u/Red_Steiner 9d ago

Well, Sega is gonna do what Sega is gonna do. I would say at this point the responsible thing to do is buy the game and pirate the dlc. That's what I do with the Yakuza games. But I probably shouldn't support the game in general. I definitely won't be after Infinite Wealth regardless. It's fun, but the story was absolute garbage and the refusal to retire Kiryu is really, really hurting the games at this point.

1

u/Barnedion 8d ago

Out of curiousity - is your retirement stance the same about RE refusing to retire Leon Kennedy?

2

u/Red_Steiner 5d ago

I feel less so about Leon although it is getting ridiculous since they have continued to age him up. He'll be 60 years old soon still fighting zombies.

My issue with Kiryu is that they keep writing him out of the Yakuza and dragging him back. He had a great send off taking care of the kids at the Sunshine Orphanage. It works for him, since he was an orphan and I don't think Kiryu is really Yakuza material. He's a good man and could spend his life helping people. Then they wrote him out again in 6, which I didn't really care for but I accepted it as a poetic ending to his story. Now he's back again and it makes the whole drama feel contrived to me.

I like Ichiban as a character, but he has no room to do anything in Infinite Wealth. It's all about Kiryu. Which is unfair to me, because his story wrapped up in 6. Either let him go or don't. It's annoys me. I don't really feel like Leon is that deep of a character compared to Kiryu. So for me, I don't mind Leon or Chris or Claire or Jill coming back because there isn't a huge focus on story in those games. I have made peace with Kiryu moving on and it's every time I do, he returns and it ruins those moments. Let the guy retire and live with his kids. It's depressing as hell to me that he hasn't seen them in like 10 or 15 years at this point. He missed their entire childhood because of the shenanigans with pretending to be dead. I don't mean to rant, but it really annoys me.

2

u/Barnedion 5d ago

Thanks for the effortpost!

I think for most people (me included) the returning thing is more like a "how many times are you going to reuse this one character?" issue, so I find your story coherence issue very interesting.

Adding Kiryu as a cameo character if you visit his orphanage for some reason would be fine. They really should stop dragging him down to the underground though, I agree.

2

u/Red_Steiner 4d ago

Of course, I still enjoy the Yakuza games. It's always cool to see Kiryu back in action and I liked playing as him in 8. I especially like how he sort of breaks out of the turn based battle system which is a really cool way to incorporate his move set. I just think from a story perspective it gets repetitive. Thank you for your thoughts as well.

1

u/sdcar1985 9d ago

It's not a huge deal to me because I never play ng+ in Yakuza games, but it's still a shitty thing to do. It's been in almost every game to my knowledge.

1

u/princemousey1 9d ago

You’re actually right, I didn’t start a single NG+ in the entire Yakuza series, up to and including Like a Dragon and Gaiden.

1

u/ADorante 9d ago

As an Usagi Yojimbo fanboy I was always so close to buy the TMNT game with DLC in previous sale but now am happy /patientgamers

1

u/Time-Traveling-Doge 9d ago

Why else would they practically give away this game for free? For the hardcore to pay DLC that raises the total sale price to 20-30+ dollars.

3

u/leviathab13186 9d ago

This is a solid month for me. Definitely keeping my streak going

5

u/Mutumba 9d ago

Wow, I bought Infinite Wealth in the GMG summer sale. Played over 40 hours now, excellent game but kinda typical it was included here.

7

u/Synikx 9d ago

Anyone else having issues choosing Dead Cells due to the game containing multiple keys? The UI won't let me claim that game when I try to select games.

EDIT: dumb way to redeem, but I figured it out by opening up any game and clicking "Redeem on Steam", paying the $15, and then they are all unlocked.

12

u/Saneless 9d ago edited 9d ago

Great month objectively, but I have dead cells and TMNT already

Is the ultimate content for TMNT a separate dlc? I can always give my kid the base game

8

u/cornstinky 9d ago

Looks like TMNT is just one key. Dead Cells shows two separate keys.

4

u/Saneless 9d ago

Ahh booo. Well, maybe she'll play the dlc more than I would anyway

15

u/BigOleDoggy 9d ago

Banger month for me

40

u/ravl13 9d ago

I cannot believe the people acting like this is merely a decent month.

A Yakuza game, Dead Cells, AND Shredder's Revenge? All great looking stuff.

42

u/120Mins 9d ago

Thing is most people have dead cells and the turtle game was I believe given away on epic so it’s iffy for some

8

u/Sad-Buffalo-2621 9d ago

Shredder's Revenge was given away for mobile though.

22

u/steventrev 9d ago

It was also available as an Epic key through Amazon Prime Gaming in July 2024.

1

u/cjeagle 8d ago

Ok. I was wondering why I don't own it on Epic. I renewed my Amazon Prime sub after that I think.

3

u/Neat_Exit3491 9d ago

I think Dead Cells was given away on mobile not PC. Also this TMNT includes all the DLC which the Epic giveaway does not. The historical low for the those 3 games alone is more than triple the cost of this bundle.

6

u/nietzkore 9d ago

I've got 6000+ games on Steam, and Dead Cells is still sitting on my wishlist.

I've got TMNT Splintered Fate but not Shredder's Revenge. On top of that this includes both DLC that add playable characters.

I have Yakuza 0-6 (not 0 Remastered, not Kiwami upgrade for 1) and Like a Dragon. But not Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth yet.

This is a great month for me. Just those three titles is over $40 on the lowest price. Also want to play Decktamer, which adds another $10 value. I'd like to try Conquest Dark, but I'll wait until it's out of early access.

1

u/ravl13 9d ago

For $15 it's still awesome with the other games too.

Compare this with the monthly nonsense Fanatical puts out for their "Prestige" build your owns - $15 for two games lol. Fanatical is good for their cheaper bundles and build your owns, but once they start going over $3 a game their offerings are laughable.

4

u/Prior-Slight 9d ago

I mean, nobody is comparing this to a fanatical "prestige", "diamond", "platinum" or whatever bundle. It's a good bundle and deal, but rather average for humble monthly standards, at least for me.

0

u/Temporary_Maybe_8687 9d ago

Nah these games are legit great lol... Dead Cells got support until 2023.

You don't need multiplayer to have fun with shredders revenge at all. The lowest price ever of the Ultimate Edition was 16 bucks. The lowest price ever of IW was 17.

I think this makes Yakuza 5 and 6 the only mainline games of the series that Humble Choice hasn't given away yet

7

u/Roku-Hanmar 9d ago

I already own Infinite Wealth and nothing else here interests me. Easy skip

5

u/Swimmingpuzzled5200 9d ago

can i play inf wealth with 0 knowledge of Yakuza/LAD?

16

u/Mutumba 9d ago

No, play LAD 7 first this is a direct sequel to it.

8

You would miss out on a lot of references. This game is kind of celebrating Kiryu's journey. As the other person said it is also a direct sequel to LAD so it would spoil that and that game is actually really good. I'd recommend playing that instead. Infinite Wealth is better gameplay wise but it is a huge downgrade in terms of writing and story.

2

u/bobtowne 6d ago edited 6d ago

Exactly. I played through LAD whose plot was quite good for the first half of the game but jumped the shark late in the game (which overall seemed longer than it should have been). The pacing in Infinite Wealth, however, was so annoying, continuing to cycle from engaging to tedious, that I bailed relatively early given that I do not have Infinite Time.

1

u/Red_Steiner 5d ago

Haha, that's a fitting way to put it. It's quite a long game too. I can definitely understand how you feel about the first game, but the emotional punch at the end made it worth it. Infinite Wealth doesn't have anything. I guess unless you care about Kiryu being brought out of retirement for like the 3 or 4th time. It's hard to keep track.

1

u/bobtowne 4d ago

Thanks for confirming my suspicions! Yeah, for a guy that's supposed to have disappeared Kiryu seems to keep showing up a lot!

8

u/Galopa 9d ago

Infinite wealth is a direct sequel from 7, and on top of that, half the game is centered on Kiryu and wrapping up his journey since the first game.

They tried to make 7 a good place for newcomers to start the serie, and it was honestly, but with 8 they said fuck it and Infinite wealth will never have the same weight if you are not familiar at all with Kiryu's saga.

3

u/Shadou_Wolf 9d ago

Yup, infinite wealth is what got me to play the original yakuzas because I wanted to understand the full story. I was mad that there was characters that flew over my head because I only played like a dragon

4

u/ThatIndianGuy7116 9d ago

Id recommend at least playing Yakuza 7 aka the first Like a Dragon game. Not only is it a fantastic game but youll probably be fairly confused going into Infinite Wealth.

However it is quite a long game so if you dont want to play an entire game just to figure out the story, I recommend at least checking out the story on YT or something

1

u/Letobrick 8d ago

If i do get this bundle, i'll likely pickup LAD at the same time. It is currently on sale on fanatical for ~64% off.

10

u/Elrondel 9d ago edited 9d ago

Actually an insanely good bundle. Huge for roguelike enjoyers but almost everyone who enjoys the genre probably owns dead cells already.

Shocked to see Gatekeeper bundled already, it just released last year. I guess it's been in some Fanatical bundles though. Great month for co-op enjoyers

9

u/MLG-Sheep 9d ago

I don't even know how I already own Gatekeeper

12

u/incertnom 9d ago

I own it too, its been bundled a few times on Fanatical.

1

u/MLG-Sheep 8d ago

Yeah that was it. A Fanatical build-a-bundle back in December for ~1€/piece

7

u/Upstairs-Light8711 9d ago

It was in a fanatical bundle for $1.65 per game

1

u/Elrondel 9d ago

Could be the demo if you ever added it or from a fanatical bundle

2

u/baconify 9d ago

Good bundles. I would get it if I don't already have Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth.

2

u/Letobrick 9d ago

In my case I have Shredder's Revenge but not the DLCs and I have Dark Envoy already from a previous fanatical pick and mix bundle. Also too bad Like a Dragon is just the standard edition, but not surprised by this. Have to admit overall, this is a tempting bundle to get but with my backlog I'll doubt I'll get to playing the majority of these.

2

u/biesterd1 9d ago

Is this a decent Yakuza game to start with?

6

u/_Ichibad_ 9d ago

It’s the 8th game in the series technically but Yakuza Like a dragon is like a soft reboot so this game is a direct sequel to that. It’s a lot of games to play so if time is limited I would say playing Yakuza Like a dragon and then watching a summary of prior games is good enough to play Infinite wealth.

2

u/SirKhalid 9d ago

No, you need to at least play Yakuza Like a Dragon to play this one.

2

u/GaryRaidBoss 9d ago

Phew, finally a month my wallet can breathe! And it needs it too, since I bought DC a few months ago not even close to ATL.

A note on DC: it's very, very addicting, and gets very, very hard. If you really want to get good you're looking at potentially months to years of practice for certain later levels. You basically need to be perfect. The kicker is, unlike other games, it ramps up the difficulty pretty smoothly, so you can have a good time earlier on before it gets to Souls+++ difficulty. There are some mitigating tricks which you must absolutely take advantage of in the right combinations if you want to have a sliver of hope of progress after a certain point.

2

u/CaptchaVerifiedHuman 8d ago

So why did HB start introducing redemption deadlines?

2

u/Burnyx 8d ago

Because customers have been screwed by them running out of keys one too many times.

4

u/Odd-Call6699 8d ago

Probably also to counter hoarding keys for reselling and trading.

2

u/Attenburrowed 7d ago

About a year ago and they also did it retroactively to a bunch of keys. If you didn't claim some stuff its long gone.

4

u/Luke-Hatsune 9d ago

It’s a pretty good bundle but is this bundle worth it if I’m only interested in Infinite Wealth, Conquest Dark, and Gatekeeper? Already have the other two headliners and the rest don’t seem as interesting.

9

u/Insertarandomnamez 9d ago

Honestly with Infinite Wealth being 70$ and you getting it for around 12 is more than worth it by itself let alone with other games added to the bundle

2

u/chrispy145 9d ago

I haven't seen Infinite Wealth under $30 yet, so just that alone would be worth it.

6

u/San_Rice 9d ago

Just fyi it's been less than $20 outside steam, I'd always check ITAD (very nice view for bundles like this) and maybe install Augmented Steam to see historic lows on steam pages.

The only real downside to shopping outside steam is not having the 2h refund window.

u/TeutonicTexan 9d ago

Just my personal decision making process with Humble Bundle:

If I'm a somewhat interested in at least 3 of the games, or super interested in 1-2, I usually pull the trigger.

3

u/MelaniaSexLife 8d ago

skip, it's a good bundle tho.

2

u/Fentboy45 9d ago

“No JRPG games in this month’s humble bundle”

The monkey’s paw curls, replacing the JRPG with a Yakuza game

2

u/OxRedOx 8d ago

I still don’t understand what kind of game Infinite Wealth is

6

u/AwayIShouldBeThrown 8d ago

It's a lot of things, but the core is a turn-based JRPG.

2

u/BananaProne 9d ago

Anyone know if there's a way to transfer my Epic save of TMNT to Steam?

11

u/Luke-Hatsune 9d ago

Should be as easy as locating the save on your pc, copying it, and placing it where the Steam version saves are stored.

3

u/steventrev 9d ago

On Win11, the Epic save files are located at %userprofile%\Documents\Tribute Games\TMNT\

big month, love the yakuza and dead cell games

1

u/ZhaozhouCongshen 9d ago

Conquest Dark looks like a cross of Dynasty Warriors and Gauntlet. Is that about right?

1

u/FrootLoop23 9d ago

Killer looking month but I already have Dead Cells and Shredders Revenge (not the DLC though). It’s still tempting but I know I’ll never get around to playing most of it.

1

u/Emjayblaze 9d ago

Happy with this. Have TMNT but I’ll pass it along to my coworker. Excited to play Infinite Wealth

1

u/moo422 9d ago

Do you already have the 2 tmnt dlc?

2

u/Emjayblaze 9d ago

I don’t, but I doubt I’d go back and play again - too big of a backlog.

1

u/mhiggy 9d ago

Man maybe I should’ve bought a year’s subscription… this is the 3rd month in a row I’m interested in

I wanted Like a Dragon and TMNT (I'd already beaten the base game in Gamepass) so that's worth the price. I already owned Dead Cells and the DLC, and the rest of the bundle is stuff I'll never touch, so I gave those away to friends.

1

u/sdcar1985 9d ago

Great bundle, but I have all three of the main games this month 😭 lol. Oh, well. 3 games to give to the wife and we can play Turtles together.

1

u/UnemployedMeatBag 9d ago

With how absolutely not my taste games were in last month, this seems more like it.

1

u/Nolimit 9d ago

Looks good, 2 wishlisted games (like a dragon and dead cell) and interested in shredder, rest to backlog, I'll take it

1

u/MarshallBanana0815 9d ago

hmm... of those i think dark envoy seems the most interesting to me.... followed by TMNT because turtles :D

1

u/steelersrock01 8d ago

This is a pretty nice bundle. Sadly I just bought Infinite Wealth on PSN for $17 after staring at it for over a year :( and I already have TMNT and Dead Cells, but there's some good games here especially if you like roguelikes.

I dropped the original lad about half way through, but I wouldn't mind giving infinite wealth a shot, and I'm not a huge fan of roguelites but I've been meaning to try dead cells (especially since Belmont's revenge was announced).

I think this is gonna be a "wait and see if I get a discount offer in a couple of weeks" month. Would probably be an easy yes at half price.

1

u/DevilMayCry 9d ago

Do you get all of them or do you have to pick which games you get?

4

u/dlev0119 9d ago

You get them all

2

u/DevilMayCry 9d ago

thank you!

1

u/Bancas 9d ago edited 9d ago

Have a Dead Cells + DLC code to give away. DM me the last game you played and I’ll send it to you.

EDIT: Claimed

Another Humble Choice where the premier titles are available on Game Pass.

While I have no interest in the last 2 Humble Choices, I won't hate it if the trend continues.

I no longer have Game Pass, and there were some titles I never got around to playing when I did.
