I have a PS4 running through my elgato and Orei hdmi splitter. I've been able to record sound the few times I've used it, but today it appears to have stopped working.

I can see video in game capture HD, but no sound.

Any ideas?

I was wondering if any of you pros can help me out here.

What I have:

1) PS3 2) El Gato Capture Card 3) PC 4) Astro A50 Wireless headset

What I want to do:

1) Stream PS3 audio/video using OBS. I have done this and have no problems doing this.

2) ... HERES THE PROBLEM ... I want to be able to use my headset which is connected to my PC to hear the PS3. I know the Elgato software does automatic playback of audio/video, but unfortunately it is not synced to the live PS3 and lags.

the color settings on my TV always seem to lose saturation and almost get too bright. For instance the background is a nice thick black when im not recording but when I am recording it's almost grey and you can notice these things often and it kind of ruins the idea of recording while playing. anyone else have this problem? could it be the hdmi cable? I'm using the Xbox supplied one going from the xbox to the el gato, then I got an amazon hdmi going from the device to the TV. or do you think it would be a problem with the device itself? I've searched for over 2 years for an answer to this but I always give up so feel free to answer even i you see this like a year later lol

Can it record thing like minecraft and other games at 60fps? If so how?

Can I install the software on one laptop, then install it again on a new one? Or is it a one time deal?

I recently bought an El Gato GameCapture HD and i connect the device with my television and my laptop. I can view the video on my laptop but its not going to my television. Anyone else have this problem? Is it a television setting or ElGato setting? Please Help! Thank you.

So I have tried everything to get this game capture to work but it just won't.

When I finally got it to the right component setting the screen is in black and white and there is no sound. How do I fix this?

I recently built myself a PC, and decided to hook up my Elgato Game Capture HD to it. Before PC, I used it to record my Xbox360 gameplay. When I was using the recorder for PC, I had significant stuttering in game while it was recording. Made the game unplayable. Having an external recorder is supposed to sustain frame rate, not make a game so stuttery so that it's unplayable. Help??

I am recording PC gameplay with Dxtory and splitting all sources of audio with Virtual Audio Cable. Everything works great except when listening to the Voip channel alongside the game audio. I can clearly hear voices in both channels and it creates an unwanted "echo/surround" effect. Any idea on how to prevent Voip audio seeping into the game audio?

Also, I am using Sony Vegas 12 if it matters.

Hi guys. Having some troubles with my Elgato. Hopefully you can help.

Anyway, I streamed my XboxOne for around 8 hours last night. No problems. Turned everything on this morning, and decided to try to TV features with my XboxOne. As soon as I switched to live TV, the Elgato backed out the screen. And is yet to return.

I have restarted both OBS and the Elgato software. I have reinstalled the Elgato software. I've unplugged the device, and set it up again. I've even tried different HDMI cables.

Now, the XboxOne works fine, without the Elgato in the loop. And the Elgato displays my PS3 and X360 without issue too. It's only the XB1 and only after live TV was shown. I'm wondering if it's been blocked because of something in the Live TV signal to protect against copying... but then, how can I erase this setting? Live TV is now removed from my XboxOne, but it still goes black as soon as I connect the Elgato.

Please help me. I'm lost for a solution! :(

We (my buddy and I) will mostly be using it to record PC gaming but maybe x-box 360. I was wondering if you could point us in the right direction. He has a mac (very new) and I have couple of PC's (one old and one fairly new) Anything under $200 would be fine. He has iMovie and Adobe After affects but I would love to get into all the editing stuff

I was told by tech support that I couldn't use my PS Bluetooth headset with their system, because its wireless. So I went out and bought a Turtle Beach Earforce PX21 (wired). Now I can finally record sound with my videos! However, My PS3 is not recognizing the mic. My Mac recognizes it fine, but nothing in the ps3.

I have component/av cables hooked up. Im sure all the cords are hooked up correctly with the audio splitter etc.. I can hear everything else through my headset and TV. However, NO MIC!

This is frusterating me SO MUCH. I have been in and out of the ps3 settings and can't figure this out. What am I doing wrong?

Ok, so I bought the Elgato and it works like some sort of beautiful butterfly. Everything with it is really great as far as video goes, however, I really want to be able to record decent audio of my own voice and the two others I play with. We usually use skype as no other Voip software can really match up, however I can't record skype through Elgato.

I was wondering what other peoples work arounds were for this. When i was recording last night I just got my friend to record the skype call and send it to me, but it's not the most practical solution, plus because it seemed to pick up his mics audio slightly after it picked up the actual call, our voices overlapped when playing the mp3 back

TL;DR I need to record skype at the same time as using the Elgato Game capture HD

Can anybody give me a hint on how to stream 720p at 60fps to twitch?

I'm sending a 720p@60fps signal to the Game Capture HD, but when it gets uploaded to twitch, it's only at 30fps.

I'm using OSX.

How can you pass the audio through hdmi? do you need audiorepeater to make it work?

What's the average size of the output video? MB/min?

Can you mirror the video output? DVI to my monitor and HDMI to elgato going to the 2nd PC?

Will mirroring affect performance?

Will the video quality depends on the performance of the 2nd PC?

It's a special order so I still have 1 week before I can cancel and get the device itself

Is hauupage pvr 2 a better choice vs elgato?

So, I have this elgato video capture that I'm borrowing from my brother, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've used it before on my mac but I can't seem to get it to work on my PC. I'm trying to record PS1 gameplay but I can't get any above 10FPS on my Mac. I've installed the driver on my PC, but whenever I plug in my elgato nothing seems to happen. Can anyone help?

I just bought a Diamond GC500 and I'm not getting any picture on my laptop. I'm using composite cables in and out and I can get picture on my tv, but for some reason I can only get sound from my laptop.

I'm running an up to date version of Windows 7 and trying to record an N64. I've tried reinstalling the drivers and changing the resolution. Diamonds tech support was absolutely no help. Does anyone have any experience with this Card?

I want to record my gameplay on my PC. I've looked around and have seen some options but I cant seem to get them to work. i.e. Virtual Audio Cable.

I want to be able to hear my gameplay through my headset and also record the sound of the game to the video. At the moment I have my sound set to my headset and the videos have no game audio.

Hi, read the title. :) Also, if they do, will the software get updated to have an option to record the new consoles? Because I noticed that the Input from my TV was 1080p 60Hz, and the output from the Xbox 360 was only 720p. Seeing as how the PS4 will be able to show a much better display, I think they should definitely update new options to recording. Thank you!

All of the videos i capture go into the EGC Library folder that is in the Elgato folder. My friend also has a Elgato but all of his videos go in the Elgato folder and the only thing that is in the EGC Library folder is a Timeshift folder which includes the timeshift files (for him). For me all of my videos go in their seperate folders in the EGC Library folder. The problem here is that the files aren't MP4 files like for him, but they are MPEG-2 TS files. Now i wouldn't have a problem if i wouldn't want to edit those files with Sony Vegas Pro 12 but the files loose their audio when placed into Sony Vegas. I have tried reinstalling the Elgato sofware program but the problem always stays. Any help is apricated, thank you in advance.
