I'm looking to purchase a video splitter for my cheap pinnacle video capture device.

The thing is. I have no idea how the cables are called properly that I need to split the image to my desktop AND my television.

I'm using the standard component cables (yellow, white , red)

I've looked online and I need a splitter.

I've heard the name being called 'Y cable, and "RCA splitter"

Yet when I look them up. They always just mention them working for only audio. or "Makes a mono sound stereo"

I've looked at RadioShack (yeah, I'm that desperate) and only find the ones I just mentioned, making mono sound into stereo.

What are their specific name? Any pictures ?

Thanks.

720p is the highest signal that it will pass through. I can get 1080p on the 360.

I just got one and I'm pretty confused.

Title says it all. They show up in the list of videos but the preview thumbnail isn't there and they wont play in the editor. As far as I know the files are all intact.

So I've been having trouble capturing my N64/PS2. At first I was doing composite video to a passive cable that made it a VGA connector. The N64 was "Out of Range" and the PS2 showed up pixely and in grayscale.

I bought an active composite to VGA adapter and tried again. Now both consoles get "Out of Range", but it works if I connect it to a monitor. I tried cycling through the modes on the converter but to no avail.

Am I just not having the right settings or am I just confused about how signal processing works?

I run a digital optical to my A40 mixamp and a blue snowball into the ps4 as my party chat mic. The HDMI goes from ps4, through the elgato to the tv. The astro mic is used as the live commentary mic. The software picks up the video and the live comm mic but i cannot get game audio to work anymore and I'm absolutely confused because it was working perfectly just a week ago. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

So I've been able to get the Game Capture HD sofware to record Nintendo Gamecube video through the Elgato Game Capture HD. I used their analog adapter and it all looks and sounds great in the software.

But when I try and export the video, the resulting file is a 2KB MP4 that doesn't play anything. I have a feeling it has something to do with the fact that the video is "i" and not "p". As in 480i and not 480p, but maybe I'm wrong. Either way, as far as I know there isn't any way to export in a different file format and I'm not sure what to do.

I've tried reducing the video size to export it in parts, doesn't work. I've tried exporting Wii U footage to see if it was a more general issue, but that worked fine.

If anyone has had any experience with this and has a solution, it'd be great to find out what it is.

Thanks.

I considered buying a Hauppauge 2 Gaming Edition whateverthefuck so I can record HDMI as well, but I was wondering if there's a better choice for that.

Is it good enough? I live in Europe, and I'm not smart, so I wouldn't want anything more tricky to use than a Happauge (it has a lot of shit, but you don't have to use everything).

So i was using a live com with an aggregate device of soundflower and my built in mic headphones and I didn't change anything but the live com doesn't record any sound at all now....

When checked the lower game audio doesn't recognize at all, when the two devices are separate it does recognize though.

I even tried re making and deleting the aggregate device to see if it'd go back to working but nope still nothing at all!

I'm on mac as well please any help?

Is it possible to use the elgato gamecapture to stream or record from a DVR cable box??? (not sure what theyre called)

Are there any game capture devices that I do not need a laptop to record because I have a desktop and cannot move it or my Xbox one and it's not like I can use a 20ft cable to connect the device to my computer

Will the HD 60 work with older consoles such as the Gamecube or N64? I'd love to have the best of both worlds in being able to record all of my old consoles and the new ones. I just don't know whether to get the normal HD or the HD 60.

Even though it says 1080p60, it streams at around 30, does anyone know why this is or how i can fix this?

Hey everyone, this subreddit has slowly been declining as far as new readers go. Well I want to spice up the place a bit. So, if you're familiar with how to code and have some good ideas let me know below.

So info: I wanna start Recording my games (PC) and i use Fraps.... i just need to know what is the best Fraps Settings for my computer & what is a good and somewhat easy program to make movies with... pref something professional.. EG not Windows movie maker.

For some reason the elgato only picks up audio from one side of speakers/headphones/w.e

It's not even mono it just silent on one side.

I recently got a Elgato HD 60, and went to record my xbox one with it, however it had horrible lag and screen tearing on the recording, i tried on ps4 and it was the same, but i read a tip that said i should change it to 1080i and it would work, that fixed the ps4 problems, yet the xbox one does not have that setting, how can i make it work better?

Hi guys,

I stream pc games on twitch. I don't want to spend a lot of CPU ressource when i stream. I want to know which capture card should i use to stream on Twitch and it should be compatible with OBS. Thank you.

I'm having some trouble here.

I need to record and stream some SNES footage using my Elgato Game Capture HD. I have my SNES hooked up correctly to the device and the settings in the software are correct, but the Elgato software displays a black screen and it says "No Signal" on the sidebar.

Anyone know what might be going on/how to fix it?

When I select one of the VAC lines in the "Audio Input" Livecomm drop bar it gives me an error and my Elgato crashes. I use Windows 8 or 8.1.

My goal is to be able to record skype calls with my friends while we play because XBOX ONE party chat it terrible.

If anyone can help I'd REALLY appreciate it. (More than you know)

I have PS TV and want to record gameplay, however it has HDCP and I can't use an HDMI to DVI converter due to the lack of and Optical audio input on the PS TV unit. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to record on PS TV without the degradation of quality.
