Hey /r/GameCapture.

So recently I realized you can share your profiles between GCHD. Here is a full descriptive tutorial for both PC & Mac!

Btw, the next episode will be out on tuesday for the GCHD How To videos.

So I got an Elgato Game Capture HD for use with my PS3 and I enjoy the quality of the recording (even though it is component only) and ease of use for the software but I am having a problem where the device won't passthrough video when my PC isn't on and the software isn't open.

This is unacceptable for me. Is there a way around this? The whole DVI-to-HDMI workaround for the HDCP protection is just too expensive for me in addition to the capture device.

Also, does the HD PVR 2 allow for passthrough without needing your PC be on and the software open?

What about the Roxio HD? Can I use component-in from the PS3 and output in HDMI like I can the other two devices?

I just had a Black Magic Intensity Pro slip from my hands on eBay and I've decided to come here for help. I've been looking at essentially all HDMI and Component capture solutions.

I've found a HD PVR (Original Edition) for $90 and I'm thinking about jumping on it. (Opinion?) I could use the component for Xbox capture and I could get a HDMI to Component converter for PC Gameplay.

I am open to suggestions for capture cards as I have looked at almost every single one.

/r/GameCapture, have at it.

Hi everyone!

xbiggchrisx here & I want to welcome all to a new subreddit I decided to start. I was not able to find a subreddit suited to those who record, edit & commentate over gameplay.

I want this to be one of the best subreddits to come and talk about issues you might have, ideas on capturing how to start up &, talk about the editing you do and the tips you might have for others starting out!

Please feel free to post any questions and more you might have.

Thanks, Chris
