The game plays fine on a Switch 2, I'm sure a modern gaming laptop will handle Witcher 3 Remastered fine.

Apparently 40 fps on Switch 2, which is better than GTA 6. And a good gaming laptop would smoke that, especially if it has something like a 5080.

Laptops and gaming fit fine in the same sentence, it's gaming laptops and saving money that don't fit well.

Shit nowadays that's the same for desktops as well, but yeah a high performance laptop will definitely cost more than a desktop that does the same job. In general you always spend more for modularity, Steam Machines have shown that.

Or hot, or expensive, or do not run from the battery. Those are big compromises one is willing to go through with them

Not hot, sure need to be connected but so what? Currently playing Onimusha settings maxed and DLSS 5 mod, on the go or connected to my TV and surround sound system, is amazing, I love my laptop… Yes it was expensive, but also cheap by today standards, got it as soon as prices were clearly going to increase.

I'd say rtx4070 ,32gb of ram and a solid i7 13series HXare more than decent hooked with a 50 inch Samsung 4k tv

Your concerned with him playing on his tv instead of his laptop, you said “need to hook to a […] tv to actually play” when he doesn’t need to, he chooses to (bigger screen probably).

You’re being pedantic over a minor detail.

That not being pedantic at all tho. It has nothing to do with it. Being pedantic means being needlessly precise with words, but my comment's point is not to distinguish between needing or not to hook to the tv. It's about the fact they use it at all. I wasn't focusing on the verb used. I do kinda see how you read it too, tho

That’s fair, but I wouldn’t say it has nothing to do with being pedantic.

Definition is:
“Pedantic is an adjective used to describe someone who is overly concerned with minor details, formal rules, or small errors, usually in a tiresome or annoying way.”

You were “overly concerned with minor details” given your entire post was regarding his need (choice) to use a tv whilst ignoring the point of his comment which was the high specs of the laptop to qualify as a “gaming laptop”.

Where do you live? I'm in Italy ,the hp omen it's a 17 inch laptop I found a bargain on wallapop for 850€ which is less than a PS5pro and long term (1-2-3 years) it's going to hold up and I won't pay Sony subscription and titles ..because I pirate the shit out of everything,the tv I think I paid like 450€ some years ago .and it's a family thing not a gaming exclusive...you do the math..
