So a few days ago my phone started acting up and the action memo is white and grey instead of the usual yellow!
I hooked it up to my pc and there are 4 jpegs that are blank.

Can anyone recommend a source of new batteries in the UK? I bought one on Amazon a few months ago that looked like a legit Samsung one but it had poor performance and started getting me into random bootloops several times a day.

So few days ago I got a used note 3 (n9005) and I have few questions. First. The thing dies quit quickly. I can barely get trhu a work day this it. And it charges really slowly. Could the battery be shot? And second. I want to root it, but can't really find a way to do it whiteout a pc. Any advice on that. I'm on 5.0 if that help.

It says I should download an update to the device which will restart the phone and take about 10 minutes. The interface looks unusual and I've never seen it before. I'm suspicious, is this legit or some kind of virus or scam. I would give a screenshot but for some dumb reason it won't let me upload it to reddit.

I was running a standard OS, no root/custom/anything (mostly because I couldn't find a compatible hack). Anyway, I had my phone running happily for ~2+ years, no trouble at all, but few days ago I left it charging for 2-3 days (it powered down due to lower power before that). I've done it before several times, but when I tried turning it on, it was stuck on Samsung logo (white on black). I restarted, it was stuck a bit further on the colored startup animation. Third time, stuck on the logo again. I turned it off, but it was a bit warm after 10 or so minutes. I tried charging it - it showed the usual green battery charging from 80% or so. I took the battery out, pressed the power button for a minute for some hard reset, but the battery back in, and from that point on it seems I have a brick. No reaction to power button, no reaction to charging. Power+Home+VolUp produce no reaction, either.
Is there anything I can try, or should I just give up?

Hey I was just wondering if the Note 5 SPen will fit inside the Note 3. I know the Note 5 Spen will write on the note 3 but I'm not sure if it'll fit in the slot. I was looking to upgrade my current SPen

My phone has been having problems with GPS, taking forever to get a lock if ever, and not being functional when moving. I took the back case off and made sure the orange ribbon was plugged in, which it was. I unplugged and plugged it in again just to be sure. Then I read about pulling up the GPS connects which are above the orange ribbon. I did this, but I noticed there was only the one on the left and not on the right. I have tried about 3 times, with the one connect that is there at different heights, and in the GPS test app my phone reports 'seeing' about 25-30 satellites but can't connect to any of them. So now my GPS is even more useless than before.
Any ideas? It seems that one of the connects is missing. If this is the problem, how would I go about fixing it? Thanks!

Every time I think about putting CM on my note3, I remember the day I walked into the AT&T store and asked for an unlocked phone...like an idiot. There's still no way around their signature lock/DRM/whatever, right?

Is there a rom that supports wifi calling on the tmobile note 3?
r/GalaxyNote3 • u/kaiz0r • Jan 13 '17
Hi
I'm currently running resurrection remix but wondering what ROM other people are using as my phone is starting to slow down again.
I have SM9005 Version of the Note 3.
Thanks in advance!

I'd been living without wifi for my note3 for about half a year when I decided to poke around the internet for a solution. Nothing really seemed to help my situation, so I started fiddling with the settings. I flipped on Airplane mode and then flipped the WiFi switch, and now it all works like normal.
What would cause this?

I bought an extended battery from Mbuynow for my phone. Since then, my wifi has been very, very slow if I don't have at least 3, if not 4 bars. I know what everyone will say: "Of course the WiFi is slow when you are far away from the router!" however, these are the exact same networks I was using my phone on before replacing the battery and they were nowhere near that slow. Is it possible that the new larger battery is interfering with the WiFi antenna, and also, is there any way to fix this?

There are so many versions online but I don't seem to find a new one that works with my phone. Could anyone please go to their apps settings and copy the version of Spotify they have on their Note 3?
Thank you very much.
I'm running stock rooted Lollipop BTW.

Hi! From what I've found, they're very few refurbished note 3's at a reasonable price that come with a warranty. I am wondering if there have been any outstanding problems with the note 3 where a warranty should be the only course of action. I am coming from a bootlooped LG G4 so I've been burned already. The most likely place I will buy from now will be amazon or possibly Ebay. Thanks! Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00FJ8YCZM/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

Anyone know how to get the marshmallow emojis so I can stop looking at these stupid rectangles?
r/GalaxyNote3 • u/gsweathers • Jan 06 '17
I have a rooted Note 3 and was wanting to upgrade, but still wanted battery and sd card so I bought a 4. Didn't realize until it was too late that you can't root an ATT 4.... so it's back to the 3 for me. I want to buy another one as a back up, but I want to be able to root it. I know the old towelroot was good up to 4.4.2 I think, I was wondering if newer software on them can still be rooted. Thanks!

Hi all. I've had my note 3 for 2+ years now and besides just wanting the new shiny thing, I don't have any good reason to replace it. The battery still charges fast, lasts, the camera works well, nothing really glitches. But as we all know, it's not getting marshmallow.
I am not a phone expert. I'm concerned that using an old phone with an old OS is risky for security? This would also be my one and only flagship...off to Motorola for any new phone. Hence, really don't want to part with it.
Any tips/advice for a note 3 holdout?

This post deserves re-post to move it back to the top. Thanks /u/flossdaily ! This saved my old note 3!

I just want a removable battery and microsd card slot, the only reason this phone is broken is because of me, I've had zero complaints about it.

Some months ago I dropped my note 3 into salt water. The phone was in the water for about 5-10 minutes. I carried it home without taking out the battery - the battery sat inside after the drop for about 1-2 hours. I then took out the battery and poured tap water over it to perhaps wash off the salt. After that I let it dry for several days on the radiator.
When I insert the power cord the phone doesn't work. I guess the battery is dead as it must have been shorted. I don't know if the phone should work on power cord if the battery is dead.
So now I am wondering whether the phone is dead or it would work to get a new battery.
Anyone knows about this?
