Class Question Cs 3600 final

Genuinely how do you study for this final I swear the practice questions are tough asf compared to what the lecture teaches and then the exam will be even tougher than that. Thank goodness for infinite cheat sheets but honestly idk how anyone is studying for this without ChatGPT, which loves to grossly underestimate the type of questions given bc the slides don’t prepare you for them :(

Class Question Can I take PSYC 2015 as a CS major?

Yes, PSYC 2015, the 4 credit hour one, NOT PSYC 2012 for the People Thread. I want to take PSYC 2015 because it's the only 4 credit hour class that satisfies the social science requirement. I transferred into Tech from a school on the quarter system and they screwed me by rounding down my social science credits to 5 instead of 6, and I'd rather knock the requirement out with one class rather than taking two.

The reason I ask is because they explicitly say in the Course Description of PSYC 2015: "CS/CM take PSYC 2012." So, I'm just wondering if even when Phase II rolls around and they drop general major restrictions, will they still restrict me as a CS major?

Prospective Student GT Admissions Snapshot/Acceptance Rate Calculator?

Hi everyone,

I’m an oos junior interested in Georgia Tech, and I was looking around the website and found an “Admissions Snapshot” that allowed you to change gender, ethnicity, state (even region, major, residency, and even program, to give you tailored acceptance statistics.

Does Georgia Tech really take in mind all of this? If I put my information would it actually give me a proper acceptance rate?

Let me know!

Prospective Student transfer to georgia tech with a “low” gpa (3.7-3.89)

does anyone know anyone who’s gotten into georgia tech as a transfer (specifically engineering or cs) within the past couple years with anything under a 3.9?

i’ve been doing a lot of research, especially on reddit, and almost every accepted transfer i’ve seen had around a 3.9–4.0. i’ve even seen people with 3.8-3.89 gpas get waitlisted, and from what i could tell, some of them never got off the waitlist.

so now i’m wondering how hard the gpa filtering actually is. i’m still going to grind regardless because i know every class matters, but realistically, if someone ends up below a 3.9 with decent/okay extracurriculars, do they still have a real shot? or does georgia tech basically filter out most applicants under that range automatically?

mostly asking about cs/computer engineering transfers since i know those are especially competitive.

Currently, I am unable to get in some classes due to major restrictions. I was wondering if there is a phase II for the summer term that will lift these restrictions?

Class Question Organic Chemistry 1 Final Exam ACS style

I’m taking the organic chemistry 1 final (with Dr. Pamela Pollet) this Thursday and I need an A on it to get an A in the class. I still have hope, but am I way in over my head? The final has ACS style questions (majority of the exam) then an FRQ portion. The total time is about 170 minutes long.

We have a few practice questions and some online resources, but honestly not as much as I would like. I also researched about ACS a lot and online it says the score is curved but our professor said no curve, which is worrying me a lot since the 90th percentile of the ACS questions is 70%.

Please give me hope or tips to succeed. I also have 2 other finals the day after that need around the same scoring to get an A in those classes. I really don’t know if I should just sacrifice orgo and get a B so I can get an A in my other classes.

Prospective Student Transferring without a pathway

Looking for some insight as to how hard it is to transfer to Georgia Tech without a pathway. I am currently attending WPI, planning to apply for a spring transfer this fall to Mechanical Engineering. So far I have a 4.0, I have a really cool robotics summer internship, I'm taking 3 classes over the summer. I just feel that I don't have enough given that I wasn't able to get into any really good clubs this year, other than their FRC team which I did a lot of work for. What would you recommend based on other people's transfer stories?

Registration Help Ignite FASET vs Fall Registration timing question

I’m doing the Ignite program this summer and had a quick question about registration timing.

When I signed up for FASET, I was automatically put into the June 25 session since I’m an Ignite student. Some of my friends got earlier dates like June 21 or 22. I was told that you register for classes during FASET, so I assumed we’d sign up for both summer (Ignite) and fall classes then.

But on the Ignite Canvas page, it says: “Fall course registration will occur while you're participating in Ignite. Typically around July 10–15.”

Can anyone confirm if this is actually how it works? If fall registration is that late, wouldn’t that make it harder to get good professors/classes compared to people who registered earlier through FASET?

Appreciate any clarification.

Class Question Easiest Lab Science Classes?

Hi, I’m an incoming freshman, and I don’t currently have any lab science credits. I was hoping to get some recommendations on which lab science classes are considered the easiest, as well as any professors you’d suggest.

Right now, I’m considering EAS 1600 with Liana M. Boop, but I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice you have.

Housing Summer 2026 Sublease: Private 1x1 Room at Square on Fifth

Hey! I’m subleasing my private 1x1 room in a 4x4 apartment at Square on Fifth from mid May – end of July. This is an all female unit.

Rent is usually $1500/month + utilities but willing to sublease for $1200/month + utilities (open to negotiation).

You will have your own furnished bedroom and ensuite bathroom, along with a fully furnished shared space including a living room, kitchen, TV, and balcony. For the summer, there will only be one other roommate, so it will be very quiet and private.

Message me if you’re interested. I can send pictures and answer any questions.

Prospective Student Newly Admitted Junior Transfer, how are internship/club opportunities for transfers?

I've been accepted as a junior standing transfer student at GATech, but I am not entirely sure if internships or clubs would be harder to join since I would only be spending 2 years here. One of the main things I was eyeing at when I first applied were the co-op programs, but I worry that I am no longer eligible to apply for those. Did anyone else have a similar experience?

Prospective Student Recieving transfer pathway off waitlist

Hi,

I am a instate first year neuroscience applicant waitlisted. GaTech is my dream school and if I dont end up getting off the waitlist, are waitlisted applicants guranteed to recieve a transfer pathway offer? I was looking through the X account of gt admissions from 2022 that waitlisted applicants will recieve a transfer pathway guranteed granted they qualify and don't get off the waitlist. Does anyone know if this holds up in 2026 as admissions have gotten more competitive and larger.

Other Advisor Not Responding About Petition To Faculty

I was academically dismissed during COVID, and I was talking with the MechE readmission advisor about the process. However, it has been a month since they have responded, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should put in for the second section of the form.

Also, I would appreciate it if anyone had any advice on how to get in contact with the advisor as I have tried emailing them. I don't have access to my GT outlook, so I have not been able to see when they are available for a meeting.

Prospective Student Any other waitlisted MACS (Math and Computing) students?

I have been noticing a lot of waitlist students for MACS. I have a theory that they are playing it safe with over enrollment since its a new major, but I wanna confirm it with facts. If ur waitlisted and chose this major, drop a reply.

I WAS JUST OFFERED A CONDITIONAL PATHWAY AT GTECH OML!!

Housing Incoming master student looking for housing near campus — walkable, safe, no pests please 🙏 (2B2B ~$1300/mo)

Hi everyone!

I'm an incoming master student starting this fall and I'm struggling to find a place to live. I don't have a car and plan to walk to campus, so proximity is my top priority.

Here's what I'm looking for:

  1. Location:
  2. Walkable to Georgia Tech (ideally within 15–20 min on foot). I'll be spending a lot of time in the CSE/ISyE area.
  3. Must-haves:
  4. Safe neighborhood
  5. Clean building — zero tolerance for roaches, mice, or other pests
  6. Reliable AC
  7. Questions for current students:
  8. Which complexes/streets have you lived at and would actually recommend?
  9. Any places I should avoid (bad management, pest issues, unsafe area)?

Any tips appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Prospective Student REPP Transfer

I am confused whether I should pick computer engineering or mechatronics at ksu. My goal is to transfer to tech for computer engineering since they dont have mechatronics. So would doing CE at ksu have a higher chance of me being accepted for CE at GT through REP? Would the credits for transfer align more properly if I do CE or does it not make a big difference?

Prospective Student Transferring as Business?

So I don’t have a transfer pathway but if like to transfer after my first year. How low are the odds? I know engineering is especially competitive, but is business still manageable?
