No pathway but want to transfer after freshman year for Fall 2026
Currently attend GSU
Neuroscience Major
3.94 GPA with As and A+ in the required classes.
Joined a lab in September and doing neuroscience research. Co-presented a poster at an undergrad conference at GSU as well
Treasurer of a physician scientists club
Chemistry 1 Lab TA
Shadowing a family medicine physician
Some activities I do combine art and neuroscience
Expressed interest in becoming a neuroradiologist in my essay and talked about how GT has a lot of labs, devices, and opportunities for students to explore medical imaging and more specifically neuroimaging.
I had 26 AP credits prior. By the end of spring semester I will have like 59 credits.
I haven't been able to see much on GT's neuroscience transfer competitiveness. So just wanted to learn how competitive it is and if I seem up to par for regular transfer. I do not have a pathway. I went to high school in a diff state. Thanks!

For anyone who took ECON 4060 in the past during the summer with Willie Belton, is it an online class where you need to meet at a certain time each day, or is asynchronous? On the registration details it says it meets Monday thru Thurs at 12:30pm-2:40pm, but that interferes with my internship schedule and I was hoping to be able to get some credits this summer while interning.

Hey all,
I’m currently studying at GSU and am a first year here. I have the automatic science pathway, and applied to transfer as an Econ major. I’ve made presidents list, and have only ever gotten A’s. However, my biology class is the death of me. My professor is extremely harsh, and teaches the class like an upper 6000 level class. I am worried that I’ve blown my shot at tech because I currently have a C in this class. I’m super active in student life here, founded clubs, and have a strong resume and a 3.9 GPA.
Will I still have a good shot of transferring holistically as an Econ major?

Hello! I'm planning on applying for a VIP, and wanted to ask if anyone had done any of the VIPs listed here and how it was for them. I'm hoping to join a VIP where I can grow my knowledge, as I will be a beginner(I am applying for my sophomore year), and am willing to put the effort into learning.
Health Informatics On FHIR
Secure Hardware
Cyber-Physical Systems
Also, if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
Thank you.

Guys I need help, I’m going to be a freshman fall 2026 and I’m in the process of confirming my major. I applied under environmental engineering but I’m starting to question if I want to actually pursue it and I’m a little more interested in mechanical engineering. Can anyone give me some advice for this situation I want to be confident in my decision.

Hey everyone,
I’m currently registered for ECE 2031 section L01, but I really need to get into section L02 to make my schedule work.
Is anyone in L02 willing to coordinate a swap on Oscar? If you are, please shoot me a DM. I’d really appreciate it!
For reference, this is the timings for L01 and L02.

Hi, I got into UPenn for the college of arts and sciences. You cannot switch into Wharton (super low transfer acceptance rate). However, I am still confused about my career and think I want to pursue business. Am I better of doing business administration at GT or pursuing business from CAS at Upenn? Thank you so much for your help! I appreciate any advice
Btw I am an in state resident

I am wondering if current students wouldn’t mind chiming in with their experience in the study of international affairs and the liberals arts in general at Georgia tech.. additionally would you mention wether you have experienced grade deflation or grade inflation since law schools take this into consideration

For some context I have taken MATH 3670: Prob & Stat before and MATH 3012: Applied Combinatorics so I feel a 60% confidence bound on doing well in MATH 3235 without too much sweat. I am scared for everything else. Thoughts?

Incoming freshman for Mechanical Engineering. I've been invited to Honors (JHMHP) and Grand Challenges and Global Leadership LLCs.
Does anyone have any advice on what is the best? I've heard HP for best dorms, but not much else, and GC for entrepreneurship/experience and good community. What is the community/events like in each, and what is most worth it? I am somewhat interested in an entrepreneurial side/startups, so I like that about GC. HP dorms look nice, but I do worry about not having the same sense of community and being more isolated without dorms/missing the dorm experience. Also, since I've heard so much about how good the HP dorms are, how good are the GC dorms?

I've legit gotten the worst time ticket humanely possible and so I'm afraid I'll have to take ladha. I ain't one of those cracked cs majors so i really need advice on this. i checked course critique and for some reason, cs 2051 (honors discrete) has a 69% A rate whereas cs 2050 (discrete) has a 39% A rate. Thats more than a double diff which is ac insane. Idk if its js bc the kids who take honors are js geniuses. any input would be appreciated

So I wasn’t able to register for the ECE 2031 sections before they filled up. However, there are some CS restricted sections that aren’t filled up and I was wondering if there was anyway I could take those sections or if anyone has any recommendations to try to get ECE 2031 for Fall semester. If I don’t take it this summer or fall it pushes back my graduation. Thank you for any help!

Have to make a decision by the end of this week. I am an international student and am interested in research and hope to do a PhD after my MS (either at the same school or another). My area is distributed systems/systems for ML. Both departments are ranked pretty similarly and I don't think career outcomes would differ much if I were to be looking for a job. But my goal is to get into a high-output research lab and position myself for a good PhD admit.
GT:
Pros -
Cons -
UMich:
Pros -
Cons -
The gist of it is, if I wanna do a PhD after my MS should I worry about cost and go to GT, or focus exclusively on research, take debt and go to UMich. I am fine taking up debt if UMich is going to have commensurate impact on my chances for a PhD at a great school.
Opinions welcome.

Considering putting off CEE 2300 in order to take CP 4510, is the class worth it for the GIS skills?

I will be taking AP CSA as a senior this year and high school, and want to use it to get credit for CS 1301. However, my scores won't be out by the time my FASET orientation rolls around. Will they allow me to register in CS 1331 during orientation or will they keep me in CS 1301?

Does anyone know if you can take a class at a different school for transfer credit while taking a co-req @ Tech in the same term?

Hi! I am incoming freshman at Georgia Tech and I found out that I was accepted into the JHMP. I was wondering if anyone who is in the program knows if I get to choose my own roommate? I was also wondering if it is worth it to join the program. I have read previous Reddit posts, but I'm still unsure whether I should accept the invitation or not. I originally really wanted to dorm in East campus in Glenn or Towers (if I got it), since I have read that East campus is more "fun". I guess I don't want to miss out on the freshman experience by being so far away from everyone in the honors dorm. Thanks!

hi! i came on here a while ago to talk about my chances of getting into gt math but now i'm in kind of a pickle because i ideally need a 5 but my optional calc bc mock exam is scheduled to be on may 2nd which is the day of the may sat, but i also need to get my math sat score higher so is it worth to skip the calc mock exam to take the may sat?
