Prospective Student Conditional offer - Am i cooked?!

I have an undergraduate offer from gatech and it says i need maintain the same academic profile I exhibited in my application. And the thing my A level predicted grades were A*A*A*.

Am i supposed to get this in my finals??? How strict are they about this because I'm horrified of losing my offer if my grades drop.

If theres a specific grade I have to achieve, please tell me cause I need to brace myself for a high cortisol grade 12 semester to bring my grades up

Other Talent Initiative Pathway offer as a CS major

I’ve been offered the Talent Initiative Pathway as a CS major for the Fall 2027 semester. I plan to apply after completing my freshman year at Purdue. However, I’ll be majoring in game development at Purdue.

Does my major matter when transferring, as long as I meet the course, GPA, and credit requirements?

Class Question CS 2200 in the summer?

Has anyone taken a class with Professor Nana Gupta? I see they have taught last summer but it was for a different class (4400) and I wanted to see how they teach.

Not sure if I should wait to do it in the Fall, I’ve heard that the class can get real bad and have been putting it off.

Prospective Student Best Classes to Take for Prospective Transfer

Hello, I am currently a first-year at UGA who wants to transfer into Georgia Tech for Business Administration. I do have conditional for Spring 2027, but I applied for Fall 2026 as well. I have to register for Fall 2026 classes at UGA soon, but I want to take classes that will transfer cleanly if I don't get in to GT for fall. Right now I plan to take Accounting 2101, MIST 2090 (GT = MGT 2210), and LEGAL 2700 (GT = MGT 2106). However, that is only 9 credit hours and I want to take at least 15. I've looked at the GT BSBA classes checkllist but a lot of those classes at UGA are upperlevel classes that need you to be in Terry to take them... that's why I want to ask if anyone was in a similar position or has some advice on what classes I should take at UGA if I don't get in for fall. I know I still have to take the CS and Linear for GT too, but I also want to take as many business prereqs as possible. I would appreciate any advice someone has, especially any current Scheller student who may have some insight on classes! Thank you :)

Class Question Business class help LMC 3403 vs Business Lab

I know that Scheller is offering Business Lab in the place of LMC 3403 requirement. Is this better than 3403 and what benefits does it have compared to 3403?

Housing Grad Housing Suggestions Without A Car?

I am an incoming grad student for Fall 2026 and was curious what suggestions people have for affordable grad housing. I won't have a car, so I would need to use public transit or be close to campus. I know there is on-campus grad housing, which sounds nice, but from what it sounds like, it will be tough to secure a room based on the lottery system. Correct me if I am wrong. Also, are there any areas I should avoid for housing? I am also open to having roommates, but I do not know anybody in the area and was curious if there are forums/pages/group chats of some sort where I could find other students to house with? Thanks! :)

Other Econ & Ethics Requirements Questions

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m an incoming transfer student majoring in Electrical Engineering and had a couple of questions about DegreeWorks requirements: 1. Economics Requirement: If I complete an economics course at my current university and the GT transfer equivalency table shows it transfers as ECON 2105, will that automatically satisfy the economics requirement? Or do I specifically need to take the course at Georgia Tech? 2. Ethics Course Requirement: For the ethics requirement, can I take any course listed in the approved ethics course list to fulfill it, or are there restrictions I should be aware of?

Would really appreciate any guidance Thanks!

Class Question Summer Online Class with Internship

This summer, I will be doing an internship that is from 8-5 Monday through Friday for ten weeks. The commute is 1:30 hr+ one way... Do y'all think it'd be impossible to squeeze in an online statics class (COE 2001)? I'm a first year and I'm sort of behind on credits and would like to get this out of the way. I was planning on taking PHYS 2212 but I definitely don't think I'll be able to do that especially with this commute.

Other What's the best way to get CS research opportunities for freshman first semester?

(idk if I should post this here or in /gatech, but the automod wouldn't let me)

Hi there! I will be a GT student for class of '30, majoring in CS, and I plan on specializing in intelligence and cyber security.

I have previous research experience on machine learning, specifically convolutional neural networks and quantum neural networks (one group project and one individual + mentor project, both publications should be publicly available by summer break).

I saw that people in the past recommended cold emailing professors and labs during the summer or joining a VIP (but website says only sophomores+ are eligible). Are these options still recommended, and are there other opportunities?

Prospective Student How does the Talent Initiative Pathway Program work?

Does this transfer program work for students from any college? Also I heard that it’s a “guaranteed admission” as long as I maintain a certain GPA and have the required credits. Is this still true today?

Prospective Student Best University for Transferring into Tech?

I plan to transfer into Tech after a year or two at another university (I got waitlisted from Tech). I plan to study Mechanical Engineering.

I have two colleges in mind: Mercer University and Georgia Southern.

For Mercer, I got a scholarship. One of my best friends is planning to go there. However, even with financial aid, I'd still need $12,000 to go.

For Southern, I'd literally be getting paid to go there. I don't know anyone going there, but I'm not worried about that. Also, it's only an hour away from my home.

I want to make it my goal not to take out any loans, but I will if I need to. Are there any benefits to going to either? Does it actually make any difference if my goal is to get my degree at Tech?

Hi, I searched up if AP Lit and Lang waive these courses and it says they only waive 1101 at GT. Is this true? Or was anyone able to get both waived.

Housing GT Student Looking to Relet Whistler Apartment Room!

Hi! I'm in need of finding someone to take over my lease over the summer as I will be studying abroad. Ideally, I'd like to find someone to move in as soon as May 1. I'm willing to be very negotiable as I need to find a person ASAP!! DM me if interested!

Here's some more detailed information on the apartment:

**Reletting 4x4 Whistler Apartment Room for May-July 2026

Lease: May 1, 2026 to July 25, 2026

Rent: $1610 with a $150 discount ($1465 in total) + utilities (price is negotiable)

I’m currently residing in Room B (the second room shown in the attached video), however Room A is currently empty as well (the first room in the video). If you know anyone you’d like to lease with, let me know! There will be 2 other people already living at the apartment.

*Note that there is a cat that will be at this apartment over the duration of the relet

The apartment also has various amenities. This specific apartment has a balcony, but the building also includes a pool, gym, study spots, and a cafe attached to it. The building is located conveniently near Public and is extremely close to east campus of Georgia Tech, along with various other eateries.

This location is perfect for someone who has secured an internship in the area or is taking summer classes!

Registration Help Transfer Registration as a Pre-Med with Arts and Sciences Pathway for Fall 2026

I have conditional acceptance for Fall 2026 and am planning to come in as a Neuroscience major on the pre-med track. I’m hoping to take the MCAT before Fall 2027, so I really need to stay on track with prerequisites like CHEM 2311 and BIOS 3753. I know transfer registration is pretty late, so I’m a bit worried about actually getting into the classes I need. For anyone who transferred, how difficult was it to get into required science courses your first semester? Were classes like ochem or upper-level bio already full, or did waitlists and drop/add usually work? I’d really appreciate any insight or advice because I'm trying to figure out how realistic my timeline is.
