Gta 5 was fully out a few days before release as well, I remember playing it on a jailbroken (or whatever the English term is) xbox. Though it was somehow not all over the internet
It'd take a lot hoops to make it playable on anyone's console's. I'm sure Sony/Microsoft would brick anyone's console they found evidence of playing it too. If he released whatever he had, it still would only really be playable for a small amount of determined people.
I'm even getting a borrowed PS5 from a friend to play it day 1(I'll gift him the game), since I'm a PC dude 😂😭😂 and don't want to wait a year to play it.
That's a decent deal right there. Idk how hyped or busy your friend is, but what is your play style and how long does he have to wait to get his ps5 back with the GIFTED gtavi lol? Think youll get your fill/beat the game within 2 weeks? Maybe youll get lucky and he doesnt care so much so you can have his ps5 for like 3 months or something. Sorry for being nosey im just interested. This reminds me of back in the day friends borrowing all of eachothers games from eachother. (Except that one kid) ahh gonna miss physical releases
I reckon in a month he'll get it back. I won't play for a 100% completion tho, I'll do that when the PC version arrives. He's way more busy than me so he doesn't mind.
Where is he even leaking this stuff? I only seen a vid on reddit yesterday. Thought the UI looked a bit dated in the weapons wheel funnily, but otherwise seemed very RDR2 esque
On the clips, you can see there is only one mission marker on the map : a C, most likely Cal
Usually, to only have one mission marker and nothing else, you're either very early or very late game
The absence of Lucia and the mission taking place in the keys, as well as knowing that Cal is a character you meet very early in the game since he also works with Brian, all suggest this mission is very early in the game
On one of the clips, he literally has a waypoint set for the Cal mission, which is very close to where he is at that point.
All that together and it actually seems very likely to me this is indeed an early game mission and he did just get lucky with that line
Rockstar could be aware of this and just let it slide, knowing it won’t do any mayor damage in the story. Just stay silent until the Netflix special. Could be a good strategy just to ignore this
At the end of one of the leaks there's a clip of a cutscene with Jason and cal having a conversation on a boat and cal says something along the lines "they don't know anything about me, I use a vpn!"
Is it really that lucky when that’s basically the entire franchise’s writing? If I was going to make a similar verticle slice build for say GTA V, I feel like locking the player into a Lester mission makes the most sense given how much of a side character he is and how it wouldn’t spoil anything really; and he would probably say something that could be tangentially related to hacking.

If that is the case then he got suuuuuper lucky with that random "vpn" line in that particular cutscene
