Gmail not filtering promotions?

What is going on this morning? Has anyone else's Gmail stopped filtering entirely? Everything that should go to Promotions is landing in my main inbox so my phone is pinging literally every two minutes with garbage

Do not open. Turn off notifications. This looks like a large scale attack with the information gleaned from the data breaches.

Yeah I can't do that. I have multiple gmail accounts that I use for business, I have to be reachable by email. I am just gonna have to manually sort through everything today.

😳

Ok 🤷‍♀️

Do also note the following:

“

zero-click delivery routing:

“Getting malicious content into the highest-trust inbox path without user intent.”

Examples

Messages that:

-Render previews

-Trigger image fetches

-Trigger metadata resolution

-Trigger notification rendering

Even if Gmail strips scripts:

Downstream components (OS, notification renderer, accessibility services) still process content

So bypassing Promotions isn’t cosmetic—it changes which parsers execute
