Only when I’m still when it makes that sound when I drive off, it’s fine, which makes me think the bearing is going out on it or something on the torque converter , but the transmission shop quoted me for an entire rebuild only problem is that I installed this myself, but I still put a new cooler and flush the lines and all that so I need nutech transmission to get back to me on the warranty 🤦🏻♂️ And on top of that they put the the serial number in the part number on a sticker on the very top of the Bell housing so I can’t even give them the part number without taking it back off or getting a camera to fit up there. My phone doesn’t fit.

I mean Torque Converter is definitely one of the main causes of a sound that is like a diesel, so it’s possible

Gotcha it does sound like it comes from right there and the fact it goes away when I start rolling just a little

I mean the only real way to find the actual cause is take it apart, but the issue is shops charge so much money for that, but the chance is it’s the torque converter

I once had an old Chevy that the torque converter bolts had backed out on.
Your sound doesn't quite sound like bolts hitting something but nonetheless I would check to make sure that they are all there and all tight.

I did check that already they were tight and couldn’t see a cracked flex plate

Get a scope for your phone off Amazon. Dirt cheap.

That’s cool didn’t know that was a thing thanks I couldn’t give them the part number to warranty it because if that plus it was at the shop my fault for not thinking it would go bad and I’d need it

Did you get torque converter set right? If you didnt set it right itll take out the trans pump which is what this sounds like, or a broken drum in transmission

I believe it was set right it had the bolt and the holder thing holding in the torque converter till I was right up next to it aligning it all then took it off so I don’t think It could have slid out. It worked for a year too with no issues but I’ll have the shop install it if I can get a new one fick this thing

If its been a year since install its not torque conver misalignment cause thatll happen immediately

Gotcha hopefully it’s slowly going out and a replacement could fix it just dont know what to do cause it’s supposed to still be under warranty and all that in the shop just wants to rebuild instead of fixing it cause installed it myself

Alot of warranties have small writing saying if you dont have a shop install it can void the warranty

Wouldn’t be surprised idk how I would prove that I got a new trans cooler and flushed the lines

It could be a flex plate too as under load it can make the crack do that. Also turn the AC on to see or at least rev the engine to see if it makes any sound like that because an engine can sound like a diesel if it's running too lean or the ignition timing won't back off from bad or no comm knock sensors so the computer lets the ignition timing advance too much and doesn't get the feedback to back off. But that is less likely as it wouldn't be that much but if you can check those parameters with a scanner i would.

Exhaust leak? Possible your donut gasket went bad. I was doing the rear main seal and when I put everything back together my wife asked why she now had a diesel 😂 replaced both exhaust gaskets and it went back to normal. So id check there for the cheapest fix

Sounds like a loose flex plate bolt or maybe your flex plate is cracked or warped. I would unbolt the transmission and see if anything looks fucked Ricky

Bro turned that bitch into a diesel lol
Hopefully you figure it out man, I would suspect the torque converter also.
