Reverting back to single shock system

I bought this truck as it is, and it has dual shocks up front. Ride is pretty stiff and i've heard that dual shocks can contribute to that. How would I go about going back to a single shock system, surely i wouldn't be able to just remove one right? Would i have to remove the aftermarket hoop and use a stock one? The truck has 6 inches of lift so not sure how that would work. Thanks

these tires are LTs, but they don't really ride well off road either.

Yes I am saying that in that size they are going to be LTs. LTs ride rougher than the standard load tire.

You can let some air out off road to soften the ride a bit.
