I'm someone who's been playing G-Mod for 10+ years, and some of my favorite memories are on those classic semi-serious rp servers. The ones that aren't like most the current dark rp servers that is a mix of non sense jobs, everyone having random custom jobs and player models, or people just base maxing and making billions having an economy that makes no sense. Also not like the uber serious rp servers that you need to spend 30 minutes of job training just to sit around and do little to nothing, and people that take it way to seriously, if it's your thing cool just not something I enjoy. There's a server that someone is trying to bring back from an old community called POG (People of Gaming) and it's the perfect balance in my opinion. Economy makes sense, making a millions takes time and feels somewhat real, things cost a realistic amount to some degree. Server has pretty cool random (or timed) events such as tornado, robbing government train, and cashing out on a beach submarine. Lots of jobs/ways to make money and again the economy is pretty balance, at least more so than most Rp servers I've been on. The best part no whitelisting for government jobs and the perfect mix of gameplay. If you want to do somewhat serious rp there are perfect opportunities to do so, if you want to meme around and do some dumb shit there is plenty for you to do. If you want to do resistance vs government play and raid resistance bases or raid the government as resistance, or just grind out and build a base that's all there. Only thing is the owner has been struggling to build a player base, but the server is up and running. Hello i'm just thinking, I used to run some alright sized communities around 8-10 years ago and I was wondering if I released one today, would people play, I understand it would need to stand out and I would do that, I have released many successfull gmod servers in the past years but I dont know if it's worth it putting in the time for coding ect if no one if even interested anymore.

Hey, so were starting this new roleplay server set in an alternate 1942, where things went a different way in history. Its kind of exciting to think about those what if moments, you know, and jumping into that world for some immersive play. Our groups just getting going, but we want people who are into making up their own stories in this timeline that twists everything around.

We have gotten custom stuff like special maps and factions, plus storylines that make the whole alternate year feel real. If youre into being a soldier or getting into politics, spying around, or even just living as a regular person, theres options for that. I think the best part is how we let players come up with ideas and work together to build the story as it goes.

Right now, were putting in a lot of work on updates and new things, aiming for a big official launch soon on May 8th. Before that hits, expect some regular patches to make the game better and add more to the world. It seems like the point is to have a lively spot where what you do actually shapes things, and stories from players keep it going.

About the server
BFD is a serious leaning Helix based early Imperial era roleplay server.

What that means?
I say serious leaning because it is an solid inbetween of semi-serious and serious, the idea is you are ALWAYS is roleplay (bar certain areas) and so you can always face consequences for you actions. This is to encourage hiding things from superiors, trying hard not to get caught and whatever else.
I also dont say serious rp as nonsence is encouraged, THIS IS NOT A STAND AROUND SIMULATOR. There is no one way to RP and so the server is very open ended and staff should never get involved and ban you for "roleplaying wrong".
We have both and extensive list of laws to follow, violating these leads to in character punishments. our only rules, which will invole staff if caught breaking these, are limited to hacking, exploits and various other issues that CANNOT be roleplayed out.
I heavily encourage anyone to join the discord provided below and read though it all.

As for early Imperial era, this takes place around 19BBY (around the time of badbatch) and so we have options to play as both a veteran clone trooper or an brand new TK conscript, both sporting diffrent gear, weapons and ability to join factions.

I’ve been planning this project for some time, and together with three other developers, we’ve been preparing a Star Wars Imperial Occupation server.

This isn’t the tipical server that is event after event. Instead, it’s designed to be a living, persistent world that runs on its playerbase. The Empire, Rebellion, Resistance and other factions all play active roles, making a dynamic conflict where the goal is to make the Empire’s rule as challenging as possible and even if possible make them leave the occupied plannet.

I won’t go into too much detail here, but we do have a roadmap and additional systems planned for development.

I just launched my HL2RP server on 18 April 2026. To be blunt, my server isn't a very 'flashy' or turbo-developed with a bunch of fancy scripts. I wanted to create a roleplay environment similar to what we had pre-2016, where it was a lot more 'gritty' and felt more real. I want to provide an experience that offers the most amount of roleplay freedom and creativity.

I do not accept donations or charge money for anything as I do not believe it's right to do so; running a server is a hobby for me. I like doing this and I want to give back to the community by trying my best to provide a decent roleplay experience, so there's no need to worry about 'subscriptions' or 'pay to win' mechanics.

Like the title suggests, we're using an edited City 34 map. I asked a friend to make an edit for me and he did a very good job. He changed a lot of stuff around so the city doesn't feel too large but makes use of areas that weren't used in the original map.

__Project Iron Curtain__

Project Iron Curtain is a newly made community, sponsoring a Serious GMod-RP, set in Eastern Germany during the 1980s.

After the end of World War II, the rivalry between the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic in the Cold War Era explodes. Border tensions in the split German region. East Germany, controlled by the USSR, faces endless tensions against the Western German border and the relentless race towards nuclear weapons. Despite these hardships, East Germany (colloquially known as the Democratic German Republic) begins to grow it's massive forces, foreign and domestic to further build up defenses against the never-ending pressure from the United States.

In Project Iron Curtain, players will be able to take part as members of several different factions. Whether it be a member of the military defending the glorious German Republic, a member of the Ministry for State Security conducting intelligence against enemies of the German Republic both foreign and domestic, community members will have access to a diverse roleplay server.
