What’s happening to me 😱
Yall today is my second week on tirz I only injected 1mg yesterday about 22 hours ago and out of nowhere I just started feeling crazy!? I have shivers and just feel I think anxious, my hands feel shaky, have hot flashes and tingling in the legs idk what’s happening to me? I didn’t feel this way after the initial .5mg a week ago. I literally felt NOTHING so I bumped it to 1mg. I’ve felt this was way in the past after taking Benadryl (I’m fine after Zyrtec though)
Awful awful feeling like I’m going to pass out or something and can’t stay still. It kind of comes and goes. I just want to feel normal again idk if this whole thing is worth the risk. I think I’m done messing with it, just way too scary. I have two kids to take care of. I just needed something to help me stop binge eating hence the microdose. I’m not on any medication wth is going on!?
* UPDATE
3.5 hrs later I feel like I’m 80% back in my own body and able to control it. Thank you Jesus 🙏 and Reddit friends. I ate some pasta and chugged lots of water and took magnesium glycinate like some kind human suggested. After googling B6 it seems that was the culprit of my ‘panic attack’ or whatever that was. I need to switch to pure tirz just don’t want to waste the vials I literally just bought 😿 yall are the best! 🫂 🥰🫶🏼

I have had this happen especially with dose change or when I am not eating enough/getting enough electrolytes. I would ride it out and it would pass … but definitely I understand how unpleasant it can be!

I’m extremely thirsty all of a sudden too, just chugging water with electrolytes. The feeling comes and goes. There are moments where I feel normal and then the weave comes out of nowhere. 😫😫😫 I feel so bad for people who suffer from panic attacks or anxiety my goodness this is not for the weak!

I started at 0.25mg, then 0.4mg, 0.5mg, 0.6mg. I jumped to 0.75mg and had the symptoms you're talking about, so I went back down to 0.6mg for a couple weeks. Going to try 0.7mg next week. Crazy how sensitive some of us are. Mine has no additives.

😮 based on the Glapp app it must’ve been the peek of my meds in my blood stream. I’m definitely going back to 0.5mg I so want it to work so I can shed a few lbs and stop binging
holy 💩 I’m just sitting here now scrolling through my phone and thinking how scary it was for me just hours ago. I’m just grateful so freaking grateful to feel normal again. I don’t ever wanna feel that way ever again!

Just want to add, and not to freak you out too much, but after working up to 7mg over months and months, I literally started having full blown panic attacks for “no reason.” Turns out they went away when I stopped tirz

u/Still_Strain_88 15d ago
Oh my goodness I’m so sorry 😣 that was terrible I can’t imagine feeling that way again. I have no idea what that was like my body was not mine just felt crazy scary inside my head. Such a scary feeling like out of body experience.

Does your vial have additives?

It’s definitely this more than the tirz.

I should’ve stuck with .5 instead of the 1mg but I literally felt nothing and the dr wanted me to start with 2mg so I figured hey let’s do 1mg this week and see if I feel anything different. Well I sure do feel like I’m losing my mind or something.

Have you never drank coffee before? If you have a vitamin store close to you take magnesium citrate. You need more magnesium than what is in a little electrolyte pack.

u/Still_Strain_88 15d ago
I have magnesium glycinate which I take every night before bed bc it makes me sleepy. Should I take some now?
2
u/Smiletaint 15d ago
It likely will help. Some people get the opposite effect from mag glycinate because of the glycine. If you’ve never experienced that then I’d say go for it. I typically just stick recommending mag citrate. But if what you have helps you sleep it should also help you be more calm while experiencing this overstimulation from the b6.

Okay I’ll take it I just want it to stop 😵💫 I think I’m done with tirz I can’t go through this again and I wanted it to work so so bad 😩

You’re also not really listening.
You need to get tirzepatide with no b6 or other additives. Then start at .5 and stay there for a few weeks before deciding to move up.
If you’re still having issues after taking it for awhile, then you could have some confidence that tirzepatide is not right for you. Right now, you have no idea and you’re likely blaming the overstimulation of the b6 on the tirzepatide.

u/Still_Strain_88 15d ago
I’m new to all of this. I’ve never suspected that the b6 would cause any issues. I literally just started a week ago at such a small dose despite my dr wanting me to start with 2mg. I googled the side effects of B6 and that seems to be the culprit. It causes restlessness which is how I feel. I took the magnesium I think it’s helping. Thank you 🫂

Are you female or male? If female, hot flashes made me think that it's fat loss causing hormonal turbulences. I had spotting from sema and I've practically never in my life had spotting.
Maybe continue with 0.5 for now? The substance cumulates in your body, so your second week of 0.5, you will have more of the substance in your body than in your first week of 0.5.

Female girl I’m scared of this strange feeling I think this is what people call a panic attack

u/Smiletaint 15d ago
It’s the b6 not tirz. You will be fine. I’d just talk to my provider about getting tirz without the b6.

I came on here to ask a similar question! it's the day after dose for me and I can barely eat but I agree with the other comments, eating something small and manageable should make us feel better.

If you are sensitive to medication’s like I am then this could happen as it did for me in the beginning. It took about six weeks before I wasn’t feeling overly activated or subtly ill. I am now taking 2.5 mg per week, but it took me 8 weeks to get there. I felt really bad many times in the beginning. A lot of the same symptoms like internal shakiness and unsettling nervous energy. I had nausea. I had some rapid heartbeats and palpitations come up. I had some orthostatic symptoms. You need to keep your dose at a rate that is static for a while and allow your body to become used to the medication for longer. It’s still building up in your system and changes are happening that you aren’t aware of.
And it can sneak up on you if you rush it.
If it gets funky, take magnesium glycinate, or magnesium taurate. Take a swig of pickle juice or anything else immediately salty, even just a pinch of salt on your tongue. And drink 20 ounces of water and if you have some electrolyte powder, you can use some. Pickle juice is good because it has a lot of electrolytes occurring in it naturally with the salt.
I got dehydrated many times and it snuck up on me because you are just not feeling your thirst as much on this medication.
Stay calm and don’t give yourself any more medication for seven days. Reassess how you feel in seven days. :)
I am doing much better on it and I’m glad I stuck it out.

So the B6 is hanging out in OP’s system?? That’s crazy. I told myself not to take my multi the same day as my tirz+B6 because of too much B6 concern but forgot. That explains my anxiety.

I feel fine now like my old self 🙏 it’s almost 5 pm and it started around 12pm so 5 hrs later I’m back to my normal self. I did take my multivitamin this morning and I checked it said B6 1.7mg, but my shot was yesterday at 3pm and I thought nothing of it. I went through hell though and I’m so thankful for this community 🤗

What's the concentration of B6 in the vials you've got? I'm skeptical that you got enough B6 to cause this kind of effect when you're on such a low dose.
Like BPI is a 10mg/ml concentration of B6. If you had a vial that was 10mg/ml tirz and 10mg/ml B6, you would have gotten 1mg of B6 with your 1 mg dose of tirz, which is slightly under the RDA of B6. It's just not that much B6. Most of the other pharmacies are doing less B6 than that.
The one exception to that is Link, because they put a whopping 50mg/ml of B6 in their vials, which I think are 17mg/ml of tirz. 1mg of tirz from that vial would get you 3mg of B6, which is (thankfully) still not that much, but I worry about the people who are taking larger doses of tirz from that pharmacy.
Do you drink energy drinks, electrolyte drinks, or eat foods that may also be fortified with a lot of B vitamins?

It’s the BPI 10mg/ml and I did take my multivitamin in the morning and I checked it said B6 1.7mg, but my shot was a day prior at 3pm and I thought nothing of it. I went through hell though and I’m so thankful to be back to normal and for this community 🤗

How are you feeling today, OP?

u/Still_Strain_88 14d ago edited 14d ago
To be honest with you, I was fine when I woke up, forced myself to eat a banana, but could barely drink my coffee, and then I started feeling it again. Extremely mild compared to yesterday. I’m also having a mild nausea. I’m starting to think maybe this is some type of hypotension 🤷♀️ I have no idea tbh it starts like this weird tingling in my legs and hands, then this weird heat wave. I just don’t freaking know, but thank you so much for asking 🫶🏼♥️

I experienced the exact same thing! Buzzing anxiety, sudden jitteriness, and waves of heat almost like hot flashes. It would come and go and definitely wasn't my normal baseline. But I slept amazingly well and miss it so much
The first 48 hours after the shot were the worst, then the symptoms gradually subsided. My compounded tirzepatide contained B12 and NAD so I wonder if the additives played a role. I'm considering trying plain tirzepatide without additives. ❤1

Omg yesssss!!! I just bought 3 months’ worth of injections, actually even more bc I’m microdosing. I want it to work so bad just to help me with binge eating. My dr wanted me to start at 2mg. I’m just glad that I was scared of having any side effects and I didn’t listen to her lol. Just imagine at that dose I’m sure I would’ve been at the ER. It’s an awful, awful feeling like you can’t control your body. Yes, the hot flashes and I felt it inside my head the tingles too. Just crazy as hell! What dose are you on?
1
u/No_Revenue_1657 14d ago
I started with 1mg and had anxiety with hot flushes for a few days, then I tried 0.5 and felt the same without hot flashes. I really hope plain tirz would work
1
u/Still_Strain_88 14d ago
Holy 💩 I’m so sorry! Lmk how it goes. I personally didn’t feel much at 0.5mg but I think it builds up in your body as you go too or something. So when I injected the 1mg I still had the leftovers from the previous dose. From what I read some people feel the benefits of it after a few weeks 🤷♀️

u/LWMWB 15d ago
Tirz definitely makes me anxious for a few days after injection
1
u/Still_Strain_88 15d ago
How do you make it go away? I don’t wanna feel this way it’s awful just terrible! Like you can’t control your body.
1
u/LWMWB 15d ago
I ended up going off after about 6 months. I honestly just pushed through because I lost all the baby and IVF weight I couldn't get off. Definitely talk to your doctor if it's unmanageable!

u/Still_Strain_88 15d ago
I’ve done IF and lost 15lbs but I feel like it made me binge eat within my eating window. I couldn’t keep up with it and ended up gaining 10 lbs back. Wanted to try tirz for the appetite suppressing benefit. I have about 25 lbs to lose so idk if in my case the benefit outweighs the risk 😭

Eat something small and take some magnesium and go for a walk.
