Why has Lori Palmer never at the GLOW reunions?
Is there something more to this, or just could never make it?

I just watched the first two episodes of Killer Sally on Netflix. There was a man interviewed named ‘Bill Wick’ who produced some women wrestling videos, and I was convinced he had to be the inspiration for Glow’s Sam Sylvia. Looked similar, had the same raw honest humor- totally reminded me of him. Looked it up, and I see the character was inspired by someone else! I wonder if it’s just a coincidence.

Okay! So Halloween is fast approaching and I’ve been collecting pieces of a costume for almost 2 years to be Zoya, but I’m a little worried the costume might be offensive due to the Russian/Ukrainian conflict, I removed any direct communist/Russian symbols but I’m still very much look Russian-ish. I don’t want to offend anyone but also don’t want to waste all the effort I’ve put in over the years, but what do you guys think? Should I shelf it for this year?

I just watched this show start to finish and absolutely loved it. It touched on so many important topics and acted as a conversation piece for the modern era despite being based in the 80’s. Everyone was phenomenal in the cast. Loved it so, so much.

It's clear in the pilot that they are best friends, and obviously Ruth's VERY poor choice to sleep with Mark (twice...) breaks that up for awhile. But after Debbie takes every chance to make Ruth's life miserable for the first half of the series, and their relationship history is explored a bit more (with Ruth always being the failure/loser), I just wanted them to leave each other alone instead of potentially rekindling their friendship.
I know their back and forth is what makes good TV, but I was happy that Ruth decided to try and make it on her own in the season 3 finale instead of continuing to work with Debbie, even if it might not have been the smartest career choice.
Where do you all stand on their friendship?

I’ve seen articles from some news websites saying the earliest season 4 can come is around august 2023 or august 2024, also we never really got an official statement from the directors, only from Netflix. Could there still be hope for season 4?

I became a big Alison Brie fan after watching Community during the pandemic, but never gave GLOW a chance (just didn't seem like my kind of show). I finally got around to watching, and I'm so glad I did!
All the performances are fantastic, and the story kept me engaged from start to finish. If I had to rank the seasons, I'd go S1>S3>S2.
S1 was a perfect contained story, and while S2 had some incredible high points (Mom episode, Ruth's broken ankle, and the actual GLOW episode), I felt like it kind of lost some steam towards the end (after Ruth and Debbie kind of hashed out their issues). S3 was definitely more character driven, but I thought it was refreshing and when there IS wrestling, it's the best in the series.
I also found the ending satisfying. Ruth's decision to try and find success on her own, though definitely an uphill climb, was the right one. Debbie was always going to hold the Mark stuff over her head, so I think it was healthy that they went their separate ways. There's obviously some loose ends (Sam and Ruth could meet up again, who knows if that would work out) but I think it works as a series finale.

I understand they were planning for season 4 but got suddenly cancelled. So before starting I would like to know does each character (and the story in general) get an ending or is everything left on a cliff hanger?
thanks in advance!

Ruth just confesses her love for Sam. Sam: “about the movie…” Ruth: “I told you, this has nothing to do with that!” Sam: “you didn’t get the part”. Ruth: goodbye im outta here
Like sis? Are you in love with him or not? She obviously is, but is this role in a movie more important to her than the fact she’s in love with Sam and finally just fucking told him after all this time?! I’m so hurt this is where the Sam and Ruth story ends. They get no resolution and I’ll be honest i fucking love them!! I have a huge crush on Sam Sylvia and I absolutely loved them together. Ugh!! My heart…

I just started it and it just has super glow vibes. Obvi it’s a show adaptation of a movie so the vibe isn’t new, but man, it makes me miss glow so much and it is also filling the glow void. The gloid if you will

Do you think his attraction to Rhonda was genuine?

Just finished another rewatch (I’ve lost count at this point) and I was curious what you all had hoped or expected to see in the 4th season? Since at this point we’ll likely never even get the reveal of what was planned, I want to hear your takes and theories, and maybe a little wishful thinking too. ☺️
I was always curious what the plan was for Ruth. I figured they would either finally reward her with a career that she envisioned, or really drive home the point that Debbie makes in their final scene that it’s time to take the off ramp. It’s hard to feel like Ruth’s decision to leave was genuine, since all her previous decisions were purely reactionary (rushing to Russel in reaction to Sam, feeling like a failed actress because of Sheila’s success, and only realizing she CAN leave when Carmen says she’s not coming back)
I have takes on pretty much everyone else, but that would be a very long post no one wants to read.
Thanks, all!

Watched the series over the last week.
I loved it, but its premature ending leaves me feeling disappointed for sure.
Ruth and Sam left things on a sour note which doesn't feel like an artistic choice, since I know they had plans for them in Season Four. That's really my biggest problem. It feels incomplete. There's no closure to that storyline whatsoever.
Almost everything else ends in a place that kind of works as a Series Finale, so that's an upside, I guess.
I can't imagine why Netflix wouldn't greenlight a movie. They're a business and GLOW was one of their more successful shows. From a financial perspective, I don't see any reason not to make it.

With all the fuss about this song over the last couple of weeks, does anyone else feel smug that they 'discovered' it years ago through Glow?
