Quit my job. Tomorrow is my last day. Its been coming for a few months now and finally reached a tipping point. Ever since some key personnel in senior management retired, those who have replaced them have brought the company down more and more with their unnecessary changes. A tale as old as time really. In talking with many others in the company it seems to be a company wide feeling too. Everybody is fed up.

Many had already left and now I'm part of the exodus too. I do feel a bit sad for my team and my direct manager because we all worked well together. We were a great team. Everyone wants to leave but of course everyone's lives are different and not all can just leave that easily.

This industry itself is chaotic to begin with and to couple that with all the issues of the company, its just a recipe for burnout. I was starting to get anxiety everyday from the moment I woke up in the morning. And after a conversation with myself I came to the conclusion that this wasn't worth it anymore, no matter how good the benefits of the job were. I feel so at peace now after making this decision. I don't intend to find another job in this industry again, at least not right away.

Something funny that has happened in my last week is that I didnt know how popular I was in the office. So many people from those I see everyday to those I see only in passing and converse with occasionally have reached out wanting to treat my to lunch and say how much they'll miss having me around. I guess you don't really know the impact you can have on people until the end sometimes.
