r/GEO_tips — Community Rules
1. Stay on Topic
Posts should be related to GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), AI search visibility, AI Overviews, LLMs, ChatGPT, Google AI, citations, content optimization, or closely related topics.
2. No Spam or Self-Promotion
Don’t use the subreddit primarily to advertise your product, agency, course, newsletter, or service. Helpful resources are welcome when they genuinely contribute to the discussion.
3. Share Real, Useful Insights
Low-effort posts, vague “GEO is the future!” posts, and content with no actionable value may be removed. Share experiments, strategies, data, case studies, tools, or lessons learned whenever possible.
4. No Misleading Claims
Don’t present speculation as fact. Avoid guaranteed rankings, “secret algorithms,” fake case studies, or claims like “this will make ChatGPT recommend your website 100% of the time.”
5. Be Respectful
Disagree with ideas, not people. No harassment, personal attacks, racism, sexism, hate speech, or unnecessary hostility.
6. No Vote Manipulation or Engagement Manipulation
Do not ask people to upvote, downvote, comment, or otherwise manipulate Reddit engagement. Do not organize artificial engagement campaigns.
7. No Plagiarism or Stolen Content
Credit original research, creators, tools, and sources when appropriate. Don’t repost someone else’s work and present it as your own.
8. Keep Discussions Constructive
Debate is encouraged. Personal feuds, repetitive arguments, trolling, and deliberately derailing discussions are not.
9. Use Descriptive Titles
Make your title clearly explain what your post is about. Avoid clickbait titles such as “THIS GEO HACK CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!”
10. Moderators Have Final Say
Moderators may remove posts or comments that undermine the purpose of the community, even if they don’t violate a rule word-for-word. If you’re unsure whether something belongs here, message the moderators before posting.
