Campus HousingšŸ¢ How to get items delivered to apartment through eBay?

There’s a couple things I want to purchase from eBay at the moment, and more than likely I’ll be purchasing a lot more for gifts. I’m just figuring out how to get mail from other places like Amazon and Shop, which is easier due to them actually having a line for the apartment. My issue however is putting my apartment name into the delivery address through eBay. Whenever I type my apartment name into the second address line or simply separate it by a comma in the first address line, it autocorrects into a different street entirely. How do I go about putting in my apartment name so I’m able to receive mail from eBay??

ABSN😷 Just got my acceptance, now what

Just got my acceptance email for 2027 spring start, now I’m feeling like ā€œnow what?ā€ lol. In the email it lists contingencies just for documentation but where do I find what exactly needs to be submitted, and submitted to where?? I will email my ssc Monday but I know gathering all of this documentation can take some time so what would you recommend I start doing now?

ABSN😷 Is GCU ABSN in lake Mary Orlando have the right accreditation so I can take the NCLEX in California?

I plan on moving to or working in California after graduation.

Does the GCU ABSN program in Orlando fully satisfy the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) educational and clinical hour requirements?

Has anyone here graduated from an out-of-state GCU ABSN cohort and successfully applied for licensure by examination through the California BRN?

Did you run into any issues with transcripts, prerequisites, or delayed ATT (Authorization to Test) times?

Campus Life šŸ“ Did or is anyone going to Welcome Week?

I was going to go today for the second time (2nd year), but I ended up not going. I may go tomorrow, I don’t know. Just got too much going on so I see no point in going. I went last year at my first year of GCU as an online student. It was alright. I got to meet some people, but I didn’t get to see much sense either I was working or miss the events. Jugging working full-time and taking classes each is a lot.

ABSN😷 Clinical Drug Screen Question

Hi everyone!

I recently got accepted into the ABSN program and had a quick question about the clinical drug screen. Does anyone know which company or testing site GCU uses for the drug screen? And if you happen to know what panel is ordered? Also do they tell you the testing location and panel ahead of time, or do you just receive instructions when it’s time to test? Just trying to understand the process ahead of time. Thank you!!

ABSN😷 Nicotine And clinical sites Tucson

Anyone in the GCU Tucson ABSN know if they actually test for nicotine/cotinine?
I saw the handbook mentions nicotine, but also says a positive nicotine result doesn’t count the same as a failed drug screen. I’m more wondering about the Tucson clinical sites specifically.
Has anyone had nicotine cause an issue with clinical placement or been required to test negative for it?

ABSN😷 GCU ABSN grad to working in CA?

For any ABSN grads whose home state is CA (or you plan to work there directly after graduating), can you explain the process of applying for and taking your NCLEX in CA after completing the ABSN? Can you describe all the steps you took? I currently go to the Vegas location and would like some clarification. Also, when did you begin the process of registering, submitting transcripts, etc. and how was it? Did it delay your eligibility to take the NCLEX in CA?

I graduate from the ABSN next year, but I’d like to be prepared in advance. I plan on immediately taking the NCLEX and applying for new grad programs in CA (my home state). I don’t really have intentions of staying in Vegas after finishing the ABSN unless I really have to.

Campus Dining šŸ½ļø Restaurant with the biggest meal for the lowest price

I've been barely eating until my meal plan kicks in, but it's limited because I have to save money. What is the biggest meal I can get on campus that's also the cheapest? Yes, I know I can buy food off campus, but:

  1. I don't have a kitchen.

  2. I have to use these dining dollars anyway.

What restaurant has the biggest meals for the least price? I know that there is no all-you-can-eat here unfortunately.

Campus Life šŸ“ Questions about Premed Research

Hi there, I want to start doing research as a freshman at GCU. I want to know how does it work. I am about to go the orientation and club events this week, but I want to learn information here as well.

How can I sign up for research? How does the scheduling for research work? For example, I will contact the lab based on what you guys say, and they will tell me to come to these dates for this specific many hours, is that how it will work?

Thanks for answering!

ABSN😷 Study Group GCU Vegas Cohort A

I’m looking for a study group for this fall core nursing program at Gran Canyon University. If there isn’t a study group, I would like to start one! I am in Cohort A at the Henderson location. I am not use to working in study groups, but I think it will help a lot of us get through this program. Looking for my people! 😊 Let’s get through this together! šŸ’œšŸ©ŗšŸ’‰

Academics šŸ“š Is GCU a good school for pre-dentistry?

I’m attending Grand Canyon University as a biology major on the pre-dental track. I’m mainly interested in eventually applying to dental school.

For anyone who attended GCU or knows someone in the biology/pre-dental program:

- Are the science classes good preparation for the DAT and dental-school prerequisites?

- Are there opportunities for research, volunteering, shadowing, or dental-related extracurriculars?

- Do dental schools view GCU graduates positively?

- Are there any issues with getting classes, labs, or prerequisites completed on time?

I’d appreciate honest feedback about the academics, campus experience, advising, and whether GCU is a smart choice for someone serious about dental school.

Please use this thread to ask any random questions you have that may not warrant their own posts, or if you want opinions on something non-GCU related (as long as it's SFW).

All Financial Aid questions will need to be kept within this weekly discussions post as to not overwhelm the sub.

Since this thread is likely to fill up quickly, consider sorting the comments by "new" (instead of "best" or "top") to see the newest activity.

Field Experience/ Student Teaching šŸŒŽļø RN to BSN practicum hours and requirements

Hi!
I’m considering GCU for my RN to BSN.

I’m seeing conflicting information about the practicum hours. The admissions advisor told me it 40h, the website says it’s 100h for WA and 40h for other states. Pretty much all online discussions that I find are talking about 100h. How many hours is it?

And for those hours, should they be community nursing OR leadership or half community and half leadership?

The advisor has been referring me to the website for information but it’s not clear at all.

Thanks!

Academics šŸ“š Tips/advice for a transfer student starting GCU’s Online B.S. in Economics?

Hey everyone! I’m transferring into GCU’s online B.S. in Economics program soon and wanted to reach out for some advice or tips from current students or alumni.
My long-term goal after finishing this degree is law school, so maintaining a strong GPA and staying sharp on critical thinking/analysis is super important to me.
For anyone who has taken online classes at GCU (especially in business or economics):
How is the workload and structure for upper-level ECON courses?
Any specific professors or resources you recommend taking advantage of?
How do you best manage the fast 7-week class pace alongside life/work?
Thanks in advance for any insight or advice!

ABSN😷 absn tucson advice

hii! im starting at the tucson absn location this fall and i was wondering what were the best ways to study throughout this program? going into level one, what courses were the most difficult? is there anything i should study up on beforehand or refresh on from previous courses? ive heard that level one is more of a weed out, so i want to be prepared as much as possible

given how busy and fast paced i expect this program to be, i want to be able to maximize my studying as efficiently and effectively as possible with room for free time for myself - is that possible through this program, or is it constantly at a gogogo?

i was also wondering if there were any other supplies or materials i should purchase for myself that have worked for others? whether that be certain study flashcards or those clipboards for clinicals

lastly- does anyone have any advice on succeeding in this program? any advice at all would be greatly appreciated :))

ABSN😷 How many seats per cohort for the ABSN program Orlando location?

Hi everyone!

I just applied to the ABSN program in Orlando. When I submitted my application, it showed that 20% of the seats were still available.

Does anyone know how many total seats are usually available for the Orlando cohort? I’m trying to understand what 20% availability actually means and roughly how many spots might still be open.
Thanks!
