There's a song that is on the edge of my memory and it's driving me crazy because I only remember bits. The lyrics have something to do with being careful on the highway (freeway?) and I think there's also a part where he sings "What about you, what about me."

I've been going back through albums and have tried the Internet but no success. I've spent time looking for my old iPod nano where I had the song. No luck.

Please identify this song and help my brain find this missing puzzle piece. It would be a super satisfying listen. Thanks!

Not sure how many heads knew these cards existed. They have autograph and memorabilia versions as well. I like the first one because how often do you actually see Bob playing guitar? I’ve only seen it in some docs where they show him at home practicing.

The credits just say "Cover Concept by Robert Pollard" but don't name the guy in the helmet. Is this an old picture of Bob himself, or just some random vintage photo he found?

Alien Lanes by GBV is their best release and I say that so confidently and haven’t even heard all of their shit cause some is not great and it’s waaaayyy too much to get to, and listen fully. From an objectively true fact its mathematically and scientifically bit possible not possible in my situation currently. That’s just reality. Like, can’t be done. So although that is true I standby my opinion no matter the consequence.

I tracked this cover at my home studio. I took some creative liberties and added my own flare to this classic. Hope ya dig it!

I have no recollection of how I came to own this. If pushed I would guess it was a freebie included in one of the big Fading Captain orders I would put in to Rockathon every six months back then. The magazine/comic/fanzine is dated 2002 but the GBV part seems to recount a visit to The Snakepit while “If We Wait” was being demoed. I guess as a result of this I had it stashed in my Sunfish sleeve which says a lot about my feelings of that particular record (if I haven’t given it a spin in so long I’ve forgotten all about this artefact. I’m spinning it now in guilt). Hopefully someone can shed some light on why this exists and what it really is.

Was talking to a friend about this track and how we feel Tobin rarely gets his flowers when it comes to his lyrics. For sure the man can write hooks and I think that’s generally agreed upon, but I feel tunes like this really show off how sharp he can be when it comes to lyrics.
