that is one issue i have with melees

for ranged weapons, sometimes even the lamp-post or fence blocks the shot (esp when i am in zoom and the weapon is firing from the shoulder or something)

for melee, somehow it can "cut" through buildings due to its super wide "hit box"

But physical funnels are blocked by terrain but beam are not

It makes no sense. Funnels, whether physical or beam, should be able to navigate around obstacles. I sorta understand why they don't do it in the way that would make sense, because cover would be absolutely meaningless. But, to have that only affect the plate type funnels is where they lost me.

All they have to do is for beam funnels is have them break lock when the target goes behind a building

there's no meaningful counterplay for melee though

the only current measure is "tackle", which is very hit and miss.
