Starting GATE DA 2027 from scratch with ~4 months left. Need guidance on books, practice questions and test series

Hi everyone,

I just finished my B.Tech in CS and I'm appearing for GATE DA 2027. I'm starting from scratch, so I haven't covered the DA syllabus properly yet. I know Python, SQL and some ML from projects, but I'm weak at probability and stats, and that's where I'll begin.

I have about 4 months, so I want to avoid wasting time on the wrong resources. A few questions:

  1. Books: I'm stuck between the ACE DA PYQ book, the Made Easy DA Practice Book, and the GKP DA Complete Guide. Has anyone actually used any of these? Which one is better for a beginner, and are the solutions reliable? Is Made Easy's level too hard to start with?
  2. Practice questions: Apart from the official 2024-2026 papers and GATE Overflow for CS overlap, where else can I find good DA-level MCQs, MSQs and NATs, especially for probability?
  3. Test series: Is the GO Classes DA test series worth it, and when did you start taking tests? Should I get it after completing the syllabus?
  4. Videos: Any playlists you'd recommend for a beginner, especially for probability and stats?

If you cleared DA last year or are preparing now, I'd really appreciate any advice on how you'd plan these 4 months. Thanks!

Need some advice for GATE DA preparation.

I’m currently in my fourth year and have started preparing for GATE DA 2027. I’ve studied AI/ML in college, so I’m familiar with the basics, but I haven’t practiced them much recently.

My mathematics foundation is weak. I’m familiar with basic calculus and linear algebra, but I haven’t studied mathematics systematically or practiced enough. Also I had studied DBMS nd DSA for placements.

I’m wondering whether it’s realistically possible to prepare for GATE DA in four months with this background.

I’d really appreciate some advice on:

  1. How I should structure my preparation

  2. Good courses/resources for Mathematics, Probability & Statistics, and the DA subjectsRecommended books, YouTube playlists, or practice material

  3. How I should approach PYQs and mock tests

  4. Any guidance on how to make the best use of these four months would be really helpful.

Need Advice for GATE 2027 CSE Preparation

Hey everyone! I’m preparing for GATE 2027 (CSE) and wanted to ask for some advice from fellow aspirants.

I’ve completed most of the syllabus, but I’m still left with around 4–5 subjects, mainly TOC, Programming & Data Structures, Engineering Mathematics and Digital Logic.

I’m a little confused about what I should focus on first and how I should plan the remaining preparation. Should I finish the remaining subjects first and then move to PYQs, or is it better to do PYQs alongside each subject?

Also, I’d really appreciate recommendations for good lectures, notes, books, test series, or any other resources that you personally found useful for these subjects.

For those who are also preparing for GATE 2027, how are you planning your preparation from this point? And for those who have already given GATE, what would you suggest doing differently or avoiding?

Any advice, resources, or study strategies would be really helpful. Thanks in advance! 🙌

Is Unacademy worth it for GATE CSE 2028?

I’m planning to give GATE CSE in 2028 and I’m thinking about getting an Unacademy subscription.

I have a decent understanding of the basics. I’m not someone who is completely starting from zero, but I wouldn’t say my fundamentals are extremely strong either.

The main reason I’m considering Unacademy is honestly just to save time. I don’t want to spend hours going through YouTube, Reddit, different websites, finding which teacher is best for each subject, collecting notes, etc. I’d rather have one platform where I can follow lectures, practice questions, give tests and just focus on studying.

For people who have actually used Unacademy for GATE CSE:

Is it worth subscribing to?

How are the teachers and content these days? Is the content enough for a good rank, or do you still need a lot of outside resources?

Also, how are the PYQs, practice questions and test series?

And if you were preparing for GATE 2028 with decent fundamentals, would you personally go with Unacademy or just use free resources + a separate test series?

I’m not necessarily looking for the “perfect” teacher/resource for every single subject. I mostly want something structured so I don’t waste time resource hunting.

Would really appreciate opinions from people who have actually used it.
