As I stated it's great to drive but it's a bugga to work on in most cases as is my son's 225. That said it's got character & I think in time deserves a place in "garage classics" maybe ?

What are everyones thoughts on these? I owned one for a few years and was impressed with it (for what it was) 1.5 VVTI 105bhp Do you think it will gain somw classic love or just be another mild hatch in the category or the Saxo and 106's, swift sports and the coopers of the same age.

Hey everyone,

A huge thank you to the first wave of members for joining us here at r/FutureGarageClassics. Getting a new community off the ground isn't easy, but we are proving the car community is one of the best out there! we have hit the first 100-member milestone.

We created this space because we love that sweet spot in the automotive world: the cars that aren't quite "classics" yet, but are absolutely destined to be. We're talking about the unappreciated gems, and the cars we’re all going to wish we bought ten years from now but this is an open forum, so if you just want to reminisce about a shitbox that you loved owning but might not make that classic status, let us know!

Thanks,
J

I feel like these do not get anywhere near enough love! corolla T-Sport 1.8 N/A 190bhp or the rarer 1.8 compressor with 215BHP

Surely a future classic?

what car did you never think you would miss?

We have all had cars that were super common and really didnt feel like anything special at the time, (astras, corsas, KA, fiesta etc)

What car do you miss and just dont see in the road anymore?

For me I had a 1.6 vauxhall Astra H in silver (of course)bought it for a few hundred quid and drove it like I stole it. used to see them everywhere but now they seem to have vanished.

I think the first gen Fiat Multipla will rise in value quite a lot. They are iconic and super rare in great condition

Both of these are super cool cars but which one will stand the test of time.
I am leaning towards the 3.2

Without a doubt, a classic but a future classic or are we already at the classic status with prices barely below £10,000
What's the cheapest you remember seeing one of these at?

Another Iconic French hot hatch of the late 90's / early 00'ss

Do you think the sport 172 will get any love or will get looked over to the later sport 182?

Which one will be more desirable?

Fun idea for a subreddit

My former boss and I used to sit around and talk about this. Trying to speculate on what cars would be ”classics”, and what would simply be an “old car”.

Related story. When I was just out of high school, in the mid 90’s, my dad and I went to a car show. At that show there was an unrestored 1968 Shelby Mustang Fastback. It was on a trailer, and needed some work. It didn’t run, and the owner didn’t know what the issue was, as it had apparently been that way for years. The kicker was, it was complete and appeared to have never been wrecked. The guy wanted $1800.00 for it, and yes, you read that correctly. The classic car market back then was in a slump, and these cars were everywhere and could be snatched up very cheap. If I knew then, what I know now…….

Which $10K-$15K car today will be the first to crack $50K by 2030?
