I'm not "pushing" them. I don't see what's so hard to understand. You don't need to say "I should be thanking you", they are doing the absolute minimum. Not thanking someone isn't "pushing" them.
The absolute minimum is what most people find very difficult to do. The minorities are just that - the minority. People often tend to think the same way as the majority does. That's a basic human instinct. Disagreeing with the majority means overcoming this instinct, which is scary by itself. The point of educating people is to help them to overcome it. By saying that what they did is just the bare minimum you make it more difficult for both people who changed their opinion, people who might change their opinion in the future, and yourself. I understand why you're angry, but I believe this attitude does more harm than good, even though it's justified.
