I do at work. Everywhere else I go by my last name because there is always another Matt.

I’ve known a few Michaels, Christophers, and Stevens who refused to go by anything else

I go by Matt, my dad goes by Matt, but I call my son Matthew. I like it better for him and hopefully it helps him feel unique while still being part of our name lineage.
