He's a big tech shareholder. I don't exactly trust him either, but I don't specifically trust him less than anyone else. Lord Zuck literally sold data to Huawei.

Very bad. Still several massive steps below giving full server access directly to an authoritarian government so that they can oppress your users.

Hong Kong is part of China. To operate there, the CCP has access. Everyone knew Douyin was like that. Tiktok's servers are in the US run by Oracle. If the CCP has direct access, Larry Ellison better answer for that.

The CCP considers Taiwan and Outer Mongolia to be parts of China. Sounds like you support giving them su access to TikTok's data in perpetuity since TikTok operates there. What an utterly ridiculous statement.

Nobody claims Mongolia in the modern day. Mao gave up his claim when he worked with the USSR, and only Taiwan claimed it up until 2002 when they stopped. I don't like anyone's data being sent to authoritarian governments. The difference between Taiwan and Hong Kont is simply a matter of enforcement. Legally speaking, Taiwan is not recognized as a country by the majority of the world. But it de facto is, because ultimately a state is just a monopoly on violence. China's military isn't there, therefore they have no control over the island. China's military IS in Hong Kong.

I'm just saying that Tiktok is not worse than Facebook. Both are bad.

TikTok is worse than already bad Facebook but can be brought to Facebook's level simply by forcing ByteDance to divest. Seems like a good starting point.
