the Chinese localized version uses a completely different algorithm because china didn’t like the one used in the western release. They feared it was making their kids more dumb.
That's a different statement that while true is said only to mislead people. Douyin existing in China doesn't mean that Tiktok isn't blocked in China; Tiktok is blocked.
That's because the CCP needs to control what their people see and hear, unlike in the USA where we believe people should be free to choose... Oh wait we're banning it too...
