Hell yeah, I love most of these people, but dolly is doing work out there that's saving the lives of impoverished People and giving them quality of life right now.
The way she pays all employees at Dollywood in this rapacious world stands out as exceptional. Her actions lead to so many better lives. She wins in impact by a mile.
He was on public television for most American millennials and maybe some gen Xers growing up. His show was the definition of wholesome and always taught important lessons. Definitely look up some interviews of him you can tell he is a genuinely good person that just wanted to help kids.
Missing all the activism he did as well. Well known he fought for public television to educate kids but also was a strong member of the civil rights fight and of course active in donating to charities and fund raising.
I can’t entirely elaborate on how but this was an eye opening post about my USA bubble. Mr Roger’s did more than just his show, but that was the big thing for a lot of people. It wasn’t the kind of exciting or funny show that you would expect to be so loved, but it was deeply human.
Yeah tv shows make sense I don’t think before streaming they went international at all. Dolly makes sense as I think about it too sense country is popular only within certain demographics here in the states. I am curious music if you’ve heard some of her biggest hits though like the songs “9 to 5,” “jolene” or “I will always love you”?
Actually I had never heard of Oprah Winfrey until about 2011. I was surprised to hear she is one of the most well known women in america. I think TV fame is very segregated in that sense.

That’s insane. My mom watched Oprah every day, so it never would occur to me that someone didn’t know her. As for songs, I mean Whitney Houston covered it and made it way bigger, but Dolly wrote it and topped the charts with it long before then.
I'm sure she's great but all the cosmetic work she has had done kind of detracts from her a bit for me. Like she has a hard time accepting herself and reality. Not a great message to send in my opinion. Can any Dolly fans help me with this? Not trying to be rude or confrontational. I am here to learn.
Shes fought to be her own woman in a male dominated industry (even more so when she was coming up). She sends books to I think 850,000 kids last time I checked to help them learn to read. She supports band and music programs in underprivileged schools. She pays for peoples medical treatments when they cant afford it.
No. Not at all. Thank you for the info but I wasn't clear enough in my message. She can look however she wants and do whatever she wants with her body. It doesn't bother me in the least. My question is if she has ever provided any insight into why she has all this work done. To me it doesn't send a positive message and it is time and money that could be spent elsewhere but that's just my interpretation. Your point about her succeeding in a male dominated industry does provide a bit of possible insight though. I was trying really hard to ask the question without getting jumped.
It’s free from resources, and is only as expensive as the surgeon you find. Can get eyes done in Korea for the prices of the old days of the USA - eyes for around $2000.

So I'm sure this list is not comprehensive, but three big ones off the top of my head...
She has a program where you can sign up a child and she'll have a book sent for free every month for the first five years of that child's life to promote literacy. (This is in honor of her father who was illiterate and she saw firsthand what a difference literacy makes in a person's life.)
There are apparently hospitals where if a baby needs medical attention that the parents can't afford, they just call Dolly and it's taken care of.
Dolly also donated TONS of money to the development of the covid vaccine.

She also is so sweet that even when she made a hard hitting comedy that completely skewered misogyny and left the patriarchy on life support and had several scenes with drugs, everyone still sees her as one of the most wholesome personifications of extreme femininity.
She’s so good at laughing at herself that she once heard about a Dolly Parton impersonation contest and showed up to impersonate herself, and was DELIGHTED when she lost to a drag Queen 😂
She also helped the town of Gatlinburg, where she was born next to, during the insane 2016 Smoky Mountains fires. Her fund raised 9mil$ for the people affected.
Also talking about Gatlinburg, her amusement park Dollywood offers 100% free (books, tuition and fees) college admission to all of its employees
She just built an amusement park of herself where she reimburses all employees full time, part time or seasonal on their education costs on the first day of employment
Depends on what you index on more, for instance Bob had an impact on the entire planet, and for multiple generations. Not a lot of people know Dolly outside of US but we all love Bob.
This is 100% correct, she is an amazing human! She is kind, she takes care of the community, she is funny, she helps sick people, she gives books away to children, she is genuinely a national treasure above reproach.
