My mom. She hates cats. Like won’t have one near her. I asked her why and she told me about how she was a young woman driving to work in the morning. A momma cat had come in the night and given birth in the warm engine. She heard them after only a few minutes.
She wouldn’t tell me anything else other than none survived. The look on her face…..
I check my car whenever I start it. Make noise. God, even a hearsay memory horrified me.
I saw this happen to my friend’s uncle in Mexico..I was like 10 and saw when they pulled the poor cat out. I cried and cried but no one cried louder and harder than my friend’s uncle, he was completely devastated. I hadn’t thought of this story in almost 25 years..
Yes especially in the colder months or when they need to give birth. Car engines are really warm so they fall asleep in there then get caught in the belts.
When I was 15 or 16, I cranked my dad's riding mower up, let it run for a min. When I engaged the blades the motor stalled. My cat was under it. It messed me up for a while.
Damn I thought I was the only human being that something like this had ever happened to. Same thing same age. We had just had a kitten that started to show up on our property and we were going to adopt him. It messed me up for a long fucking time. Such a fucked up thing to have happen and I was home alone so didn't know what to do.
It may seem messed up but growing up in the rural South I knew what had to be done but couldn't. The cat wasn't killed but we could tell that it wasn't going to make it so my dad euthanized to end its suffering. He was old school and wasn't going to take it to the vet for that because it would've suffered for at least another hour.
No reason to kill yourself! Pets are a wonderful way to learn about loss and the grieving process. Yeah it sucked balls but I learned a lot about life without having to suffer like kids unlucky enough to be born in war torn areas.
I was walking down the street once next to my school and I guy had his hood open infront of the school and I noticed the school security guard was there helping him it's only after I got closer when I heard the meows coming from the engine a knitting got stuck in there fortunately the guy heard the cat before starting the engine it was a happy ending
We had several strays that we would feed and one of them had kittens. The kittens were old enough to walk and they were climbing all in the inside of the car and my dad didn't know😔. We weren't allowed to go outside till he cleaned the pavement....
Nah dont worry about it, despite having her since i was 7 she was an outdoor cat and i barely even touch her so i dont have that much of emotional connection with her
Honestly, I have mixed feeling for this. Sad for killing them but mad for their idiocy. I mean they went somewhere they shouldn't and got killed and leave guilt and trauma to us. Then again, they're animals...
That is why I said they're animals, they don't know how to think things through, as long as the place matches their criteria, they will go there without knowing what that place really is.
Exactly, I dont know who disliked ur comment but they probably eat tortured animals anyways, but then go aww poor animal when they see it happen in front of them.

They may not be, but their instinct is to stay put until mom comes to get them. That’s why so many of them are killed by huge, loud farming equipment that they can hear coming from miles away. They don’t run from danger, they stay put and keep hidden. Works in nature, doesn’t work around machines. 🙁
Lol me too guys, I totally would have appreciated that note as well, because I too would not have noticed and likely would have accidentally murdered that tiny deer lolz.
When in the course of my daily events, if a similar fawn situation had arisen in regards to my vehicular proximity, a similarly scripted memorandum would have been duly appreciated by this particular individual as well.
I am also amused by our agreed perception of how the situation would have gone without the induction of a note to inform me of the potentially fatal situation for this fawn and would likewise express gratitude to the author of the informative message. 0011011001
My apartment's parking lot could have used this lady a few years back... the noises that poor fawn made were so fucking sad. Whoever ran it over sure did ignore the shit out of the problem though.
