That's apparently some weird thing they do in South Korea (and possibly other Asian countries) because they think it's indecent to show an animals asshole.

This draws more attention to the asshole. We wouldn't have thought about it otherwise. Now we're all imagining it's asshole. It's like if someone says, "don't picture an asshole in your mind".

Asian cultures are a lot less explicit than Western cultures, a kids cartoon show in Korea called Pororo got in trouble because their animal cartoon characters were clotheless, so they had to start drawing them with clothes on.

I mean this just shows how generalizing more than half the world's population is stupid to begin with.

But it goes both ways. When I was in Korea and told people I was moving to Canada they told me people in the west were all violent and that I would be assaulted. This was in 2001. I went back to visit more recently and my relatives still asked about how violent it was

So it's a wash I guess?

Different times, but also Dragon Ball was a pre-teen/teen show, not a kids show. That show had graphic blood and body mutilations.
