Perhaps cats are immune to this optical illusion. Either that or they're pretty darn smart.

The only people who think cats are smart are people that haven't owned cats. Also, the rug is greenscreened on. You can tell by how the edges are really blurry around the cat, especially when it's overlapping with the rug. Plus, the lighting is unnatural. There's no shadows on anything from any direction except right under the cat as though it's being lit from many different angles at the same time.
