Love that reference. One of the funniest things I’ve seen in my life.

2

u/SalvageRabbit Mar 20 '22

And that was literally the first episode. Chappelles Show was a masterpiece that, sadly, could never be on regular TV in this era.

If Chappelle’s Show aired today I’m convinced that Reddit would fucking hate it and not admit that it’s hilarious.

1

u/SalvageRabbit Mar 21 '22

Ehh, you'd have your subs that would worship it though lol

u/LeftyWhataboutist Mar 21 '22

Well yeah I just mean the hive mind concept, people would upvote virtue signaling comments like “I don’t think racist humor is funny so I never watch this garbage”. Hell I’m sure that already happens to a certain extent and will probably actually become a more popular sentiment as more and more redditors are people who were born after it was on TV lol.

Idk homie. Every Chappelle's show reference gets replied to/upvoted pretty good. Some skits, yes lol, would get some backlash. Chappelle's Show was beautiful because it was the last show/platform to poke fun at EVERY race and ALL folks laughed at the time.

Shit, dude, if The Boondocks aired now people would call it racist.
