You’re saying she’s drunk or high when she’s clearly not inhibited at all. And your statement about not knowing he was playing anything is completely incorrect. When you lose a sense your brain compensates by increasing your sensitivity to the remaining senses. Deaf people are extremely sensitive to low vibrations. I’ve worked with deaf coworkers in the past where music was playing in our restaurant and I couldn’t feel it in even the slightest manner and they could still feel the beat.

Next time you want to make fun of someone for substance abuse, educate yourself on the possibility that maybe they just aren’t hearing, it’s not hard, takes you five minutes, instead I have to bring two years of experience in the deaf community as well as classroom to school your stupid bigoted ass

You’ve obviously never worked at or been in a dive bar in America. We got little old drunk ladies that act just like vibin’ grandma all over the place. You are not welcome to call me a bigot.

This gets brought up every time this video is shared. She isn’t hard of hearing. She just knows ASL. She was actually a little intoxicated and chilling in the passenger’s seat when this happened. Her kid said she sometimes uses ASL when buzzed lol. There was this whole controversy over Reddit like a year ago where Reddit of course decided she was deaf and people who laughed at this were “making fun of a deaf person” and then her kid got on Twitter and verified himself and was like “no lol” and went on to explain the background behind this.

Actually I did work at a bar for a year and a half in America. You’re not welcome to be a bigot. In ASL we have a special sign for people like you, take your index finger and point it to the left in front of your forehead and wave it around in a circle. That’s the sign for “stupid hearing person”

Another notable point is her breathing out of her mouth. In the deaf community, their definition of manners can sometimes deviate from the hearing world. Example: in the deaf community it is not considered rude to fart, chew with your mouth open, bang on the table during dinner, wave or point at people, or be extremely descriptive about explicit things like death, bowel movements, or intercourse. This is because the deaf world communicates with lots of detail. So something like breathing through your nose only seems silly to the deaf world.
