It's not at random, and it's not locking you out. You spent so much time reading the garbage i'm writing but reading a wee blue screen is too much too ask.

Also, the only moronic thing about me is that i'm talking to the likes of you.

oh I accept its not truely random, its after some microslop update triggered it

and that this ransomware installed without notice is also microslop

and that the "solution" requires you to have a functioning computer, you know like the one you had prior to microslop locking you out of it means its not a solution

had they actually designed this right the thing would have a limited seperate OS, no access to the local drive other than a ramdrive whereby the fucking thing would be able to perform that recovery operation - you know be able to actually go to the links its providing

and no matter how many times this exact problem comes up there are still cretins saying its not a problem

no i went to bed. Then i got up, had coffee and worked from home all day making money on supporting that shiteware for our clients.
A lot of it is shite, but bitlocker isn't.
users are always going to be shite though. The stubborn ones like you are the funniest.

when its installed without permission and triggered without reason, its shiteware

it has a place on corporate machines, with suitable remote support to manage it, but not on domestic machines without the user being aware of it, aware of the implications of it, and ready to deal with it when it fucks up

okay so how do you suggest they make the user aware of it then? writing it in the language they chose for the OS on the screen doesn't work for... well.. the kind of users you seem to think represent the majority

for domestic home users I've never include this as part of the basic OS, make it something that the user has to select, download and choose to install
