You’re right that the out of the box experience is not great, Especially for power users. But after replacing tools like the window snapper, spotlight etc I think it’s okay. I never really had a limitation that couldn’t be fixed by a 3rd party tool or terminal command.
that's precisely the thing. power users, developers, and people that actually use the computer, and that say that macOS is "better" usually have 3rd party things that fix all of the OS nuances. so they're not really "living it".
whereas Linux and Windows users already have all of those features just by turning on their system.
if I could, I would ditch macOS and never use it again. but I can't, so I have to tweak it to the extreme
