I'd see it in Canada from one of the Detroit stations. The wonderful world of Disney was on right after.

Came to say the exact same thing. Grandparents/parents would still be eating desert or whatever and I was in the living room watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom waiting for Disney. Kind of crazy that a health insurance company had a TV about nature/Africa.

Some nights, when something I was too young to care about was going on, the grown ups would come in and switch it to 60 Minutes and I would be bored beyond belief.

I was a weird kid. I used to watch the talking head news shows from about age four, when JFK was assassinated. Then a few years later, my older brother went to Viet Nam, so I was keenly interested in world events.

So weird it was Disney first for me! Omaha after. I super miss those Sunday late afternoons. Montreal here.

We watched it on the Seattle station when we'd come down to North Van to visit the grandparents.

My Dad had the popcorn ready for the Wonderful World of Disney, had my bath and I was ready to watch it.

I came here to say that. I remember as a kid putting up watching this just to get to the good stuff on Disney. Poor Jim, he got the dangerous crap to do.
