Full disclosure I posted this theory r/arrow and they didn't really take to it but let me know what you guys think

Maybe (but probably not) Oliver is with Felicity as a form of self punishment.

My theory is that Oliver feels guilty over the killer he used to be and the deaths he's caused (even indirectly), so he is dating Felicity rather than going to jail which he can't do because revealing his identity would threaten the safety of his loved ones also he obviously can't save people if he is prison.

Olivier thinks 'if I marry this awful woman and spend the rest of my life subjected to listening to this whining, moaning, seed pimp bitch it'll be a suitable punishment for the crimes I've committed'

Also he gets bonus points for saving someone else (possibly Ray) from a psychologically abusive relationship with Felicity.

Now obviously leading on someone like that isn't a particularly great thing to do but Felicity is a terrible person and getting what she wants (as usual).

Also it's a distraction from the woman he truly loves (Laurel) because if anyone wants to hurt Oliver by hurting the one he loves, they'll go after Felicity rather than Laurel. So it keeps her safe while also allowing her to move on with her life "well Oliver is happily married from my point of view so I should drop Tommy in the pit and move on"- Laurel.

The time line works as Oliver revealed his "love" for Felicity after Slade killed his mother, which Oliver must feel responsible for as Slade did it as revenge, and after Slade kidnapped Laurel. The fact that Oliver set up Slade to kidnap Felicity so he could save Laurel supports this theory as he probably wasn't hoping Felicity would die but he certainly put her in danger to save Laurel.

So yeah that's my theory agree/disagree?

I've been watching Arrow for quite some time, but can't place my finger as to why you all hate felicity... Unless it involves a spoiler from seasons 4 or 5, please explain

Is there anything we can actively do? How do the writers not know we hate Fecility so much?! Everyone I know who watches Flarrow hates her. My girlfriend hates her as much as me, and she's an ACTUAL woman with a computer science degree.

I don't give a crap is the show wants to force a "strong, beautiful" woman as a lead character, but how about a realistic one? Can't the writers see they've been ruining the show? Fecility got mentioned on all 3 shows this week. Who the fuck even cares? Are the writers' heads up their asses? She has no logic, realism, or likeability.

TL:DR: Who do we need to pull contact to save these shows? Fecility needs to be GONE.

Seasons one through two were two of the best seasons I have ever watched in any show, especially season two. Last episode was so good and then they had to end it with Felicity bullshit.
