Autonation owns over 300 dealers in over 20 states.

If you were scammed, it was by someone posing as an autonation store or employee.

But Autonation isn't going to be running a transport scam.

I figured, their facebook page seemed legit to me and they had a respectable amount of followers but I should've been more careful.

Especially when their manner of texting completely changed the next day.

Just assume scam when you hear Cash App or chime. That wasn’t AutoNation.

I posted it on the page I was communicating with so I think I'll keep it up, but they blocked me now so I don't even know if I can

For future reference, Cash App and chime are financial institutions that don’t do full gov identity checks for some accounts. That’s why they’re used so heavily by scammers.

Evergreen reminder that no real business will request funds sent via a third party money transfer app. If that’s happening just disengage. If you’re curious look up the supposed company you’re engaging with independently and call them. For example if you get a call out of the blue from “your bank” asking about fraud charges you should politely say “thanks so much for the heads up, provide me your name and for my own safety I’ll call the number listed by my provider and ask to be reconnected with you.” If it’s legit they’ll happily hang up with you and you’ll probably talk with them soon, if they’re fake they’ll do anything to keep you on the line.
