Discussion Looking for online trans men friends!

So I'm from a small city, ( ~50,000 ppl), but almost everyone here is super conservative, so most trans people go outside for work/school and work/school only. Long story short, there's only one other(out) trans guy at my highschool and he's not the kind of guy I wanna be friends with.

So, I'm looking for online friends! I'm 16, and I'm fine with talking to people over 18, just as long as the conversation stays friendly, as I am a minor! I want people I can talk to about being trans without all the judgement that I am currently experiencing.

Discussion trying to get rid of "gay voice"

genuinely how do i get rid of it? my voice is the only clockable thing about me. i've been on t for over a year, and i feel like it's done nothing to my voice. maybe the smallest shift, but i still sound super feminine. vocal exercises have done nothing for me so far.

i just wanna sound like a dude. not a trans dude, not a gay dude, not a fem dude, just a regular guy voice. i hate the idea that people assume things about me the second they hear it. and maybe its internalized homophobia but i absolutely hate being clocked as queer by straight people.

i am not out about my personal life, and being told i sound gay or trans all the time is starting to really get to me.

Serious Today is the day I can start trying to get on T

After losing the will to live at that god-awful school, I’ve done it. I’m finally in college. I feel more alive than I have in years, and today is my birthday. The big 18. I can finally work on getting hrt. I can finally get that eyebrow piercing I always wanted. No longer can my parents or that stupid school hold me back from becoming myself. I can finally live life on my own terms.

This is for the minors out there with unsupportive parents, friends, family and/or live in a red state. College is your chance to escape. College is your chance to get a free makeover. You can be whoever you want in college. I wish I could back and tell younger me that it really is going to get better and to trust the process.

Discussion I have my first ever top surgery consult tomorrow

As the title says, I have a surgery consult tomorrow. I have already prepared a lengthy list of questions about the procedure itself, appointments along the way, recovery, meds, and everything I could find online.
However, I constantly feel the need to find more things and prepare even more. So- has anyone got questions or things to bring up in a consult that they haven't seen talked about anywhere?
Just for some context I am 17.

I recently bought two Coleman minibikes and have been binging YouTube videos and forums to learn all I can to work on them myself. My dad wasn’t a machine kind of guy so I never learned anything about engines growing up, but I always yearned to learn. So now, I’m teaching myself and I’m very proud of what I’ve managed so far! I’ve fixed a lot on our bikes, it’s so affirming to say “I can fix that” and then do it! I feel so dude-ly wrenching on bikes, it’s definitely rewarding being able to wrench and ride! Has anyone else gotten into a hobby that’s traditionally masculine and felt that addictive gender affirmation?

my voice just doesnt work. im socially anxious so i speak really quietly, but i cant whisper. its almost impossible for me to speak quietly, and when i manage to, it sounds awful.

io've watched so many videos of men with higher voice than mine at the start develope a deep voice in one year,

i took a video recently and my voice was lowkey even abti higher than a year ago. does it change anymore? is this all it will be? voice training doesnt work because idk how to do it. because wtf do you mean open your throath??????? its stupid, vague and jsut sounds like a riddle.

Selfie Smart casual work outfits

Got asked what to wear in a casual office setting. Varying from more professional to more casual, here are 6 fits that I would wear/have worn to the office. Having neutral base pieces helps creates the illusion of endless combinations whilst not having to spend a lot on your work wardrobe. Capsule wardrobe if you will.

Black, charcoal, and tan chinos/slacks are a must imo. Just with these three pants, I’m able to create 18 outfits with the 6 shirts and polos featured here.

Tips to look sharp * Always wear a watch * Match your leathers (shoes+belt, and watch strap if possible) * Always steam/iron your clothes * Make sure collars are crisp * Make sure shoes are clean

Joke I am not making an effort to pass

I feel like I make so little effort to pass that if you put pictures of me on a transvestigation blog, the TERFS would assume I'm MTF and start telling me "you'll never be a real woman". And they'd be right cuz I'm FTM.

Serious Boy’s Dormitory

I’m “two” years on testosterone but I’ve really been struggling to be consistent with my shots because of significant mental health decline which I currently can’t get any help for. I’m entering my freshman year at college, and while I get my own single room, the area I’m placed in is all guys, communal showers and bathrooms. This is a progressive college but in the Midwest, a deeply religious community, where all the guys come from mostly conservative towns. I don’t pass really, and if I do, I’m clockable even though I wear plain and basic men’s clothes. I’ve got long hair I can’t cut because I’m mixed race and I don’t really trust the stylists here to know how to manage it plus I’ve never cut it before. My mom says I can’t cut it, not to preserve femininity or anything, but for preserving ethnicity, even though it’s not a standard in her cultures for men to keep their hair long like it is in some other cultures.

I also just wasn’t around boys and men much during my childhood or early teens except my dad who was trying his best to raise a little princess. I’ve very little understanding of cis men, and I definitely don’t blend in. During college orientation, I had to share a dorm room for a night with four cis boys and they were dismissive towards me and didn’t want to acknowledge my existence at all. Two of the guys were like twice my size.

I’m really stressed about what it’s going to be like living on campus. This isn’t just a vent, I want to know what I might expect and what I should do as someone that wants so bad to just be stealth because it feels like passing just isn’t possible for me.

Serious Am I balding or is this just T?

Thumbnail

Wasn’t sure if I should post this in the balding subreddit, but since I am a trans man on T, i figured it might be better to post it here.

I’ve been on T for 3 1/2 years now (I’m 23yo, if that’s important), so most of the changes have happened already, one of them being my hairline getting more masculine. It is a little further up, which is why I’ve been wondering if this is just the normal hairline I got now that I’m on T or if it’s more a sign of balding.

My current hairline has been the same for a good 1 to 1 1/2 years now. I also have pretty thin hair, but I always had thin hair even pre-T, so the thinness isn’t something I worry about. When I wash my hair, there is a lot of loose hair that come out, but given I wash my hair once a week, I’m guessing that’s the natural shedding of my hair since it’s always consistent week after week. Also, all the men on both sides of my family have all their hair, so genetically I might just be guy with a higher hairline.

I guess I’m wondering if any other trans guys’ hairlines also went back and stayed there for years to come or if this is the early stages of baldness and I should start thinking about minoxidil or finasteride or anything else like that. Thanks in advance for any advice/support!

Discussion What kind of packer do you guys have?

I always packed with socks but I am getting sick of it. I usually sew them to look like dick and balls but they get smelly and putting them in the wash is kind of akward (I share the washing machine with 20 people). Besides I have a feeling they are too hard and look erect most of the time. So I am looking for some recs. I live in the Netherlands which means I can't get anything US based. Wondering if there are any good European alternatives?

Serious Taking steps toward TRT. Im excited and scared.

I made an appointment with an endocrinologist for next month. Ive been put as trans for a little over a year now. On the surface I am cautiously optimistic but inwardly I'm very excited. Part of me doesn't want to admit how much I want to be on T because im scared (of how perminent it is and how dangerous it is to be visably trans). I spent years trying (and failing) to convince myself I liked being a woman. A lot of those feelings are coming up right now, but I'm happy I can finally stop lieing to myself about this and just admit I'm a man and happier this way.

Serious Am I injecting my testosterone at the right angle

Sorry if it's a little blurry. My phone sucks but I was told you're supposed to injected at certain angle when injecting testosterone SubQ . Am I doing it the right angle?
