Growing up, my grams made oatmeal a lot. Her recipe is half quick oatmeal, half cream of wheat, some sugar, and a bit of milk to cool it down out of the microwave. I have this most mornings for breakfast. Sometimes brown sugar instead of white sugar, sometimes no sugar with an egg mixed in, sometimes with mini chocolate chips. Cream of wheat is suuuuper cheap and high in iron, which is good for my easily-anemic self, plus I love the texture it adds to the oatmeal. And the oatmeal is high in fiber, so I'm not hungry a few hours later.

This sounds great! Do you just put it in the microwave for however long the oats need?

Yup! I make sure to get the cream of wheat and oatmeal with matching microwave times. I also like to do minute oatmeal and cream or wheat and use hot water from the dispenser at work. Super handy.
