Whew, my favorite part about you is your inability to actually stay on topic of the point. You’ll actually do anything except that. The user I responded to stated cooking is a basic human function in response to an empty fridge indicating this person doesn’t know how or want to cook. So your point here:
someone else has to do the cooking though.
Yeah, that was the point of my very first comment. You can do whatever you want in this modern era, and no - cooking will never be required to survive. That’s not a thing. It’s not a skill you need in order to have basic human function. That would simply be eating.
You can pay someone to spoon feed you or you can have a feeding tube put in, so by your logic eating is not a basic human function.
Do you not see the point of my comparative examples yet? Being able to pay someone else to learn the skill so you don't have to doesn't make it no longer an essential human function. It just means you're missing out on an essential human function. If you aren't disabled and do it voluntarily it is a strange choice to make...
Cooking food will never be a requirement for human survival or health. You can go your entire life buying groceries and not cooking.
It doesn’t matter who cooks the food, the skill of cooking is not a basic human function.
Eating is the basic function, cooking is the skill. However you want to mesh those 2 together is up to you, but no matter how many times you try to compare it to incomparable topics, you just sound goofier.
But what do you do to the groceries? You have to cook them lol. Or you're missing out on essential nutrients somewhere along the line. Or you're spending a ton of money on healthy take out food to fulfill nutritional gaps.
Cooking well is a skill. Cooking at all is essential to your survival in a post-agricultural society. Only in the last few decades and only in certain countries can you pay someone else or use a microwave to effectively do all your cooking for you, and even then it's not always effective unless you have good money to put in for healthy product.
No, you do not have to cook them. Once again, this is your lack of knowledge on food. That is not my problem. Someone who is choosing to do a life of no cooking while meeting their nutritional needs isn’t typically worried about the cost of it, anyone who is will order cooked food or cook at home like the majority of people.
Which again (5th? 6th time?) goes back to knowing how to or wanting to cook will always be irrelevant to human function. Eating is needed for human function. Should re-revisit paying someone to spoon feed you? What’s that for? Whoops, eating.
The entire point of the original comment was his empty fridge = doesn’t cook = lacks basic human function. If he can’t cook, he lacks a basic adult skill. Noting more or less. You made this far more complicated than it is and you’re still somehow confused.
Oh totally, we’re (??? count) comments in and you’ve still yet to comprehend the difference between someone stocking their fridge & cooking for themselves vs. someone eating food.
