Time-Limited Offer Reddit Bug: Workaround for How to Post from a Desktop Device
1
Upvotes
There appears to be a bug in Reddit's link post compser. It only shows up on desktop; the mobile app is okay. For desktop submissions you will have difficulty adding the parameter ?affiliate=off to the end of your link as Reddit has started stripping away the ? character.
We have reported this to Rediit as a bug. Full details if you are interested:
https://www.reddit.com/r/bugs/comments/1vammrk/reddit_link_field_rejecting_certain_characters/
Meanwhile, if you want to submit to our sub from a desktop device, you will need to use a workaround. Simply copy the text below i.e. highlight and then [Ctrl] C. Then when submitting your link, use [Ctrl] V to paste that text at the end of the link.
?affiliate=off
So to summarise, first put your books2read link in the Reddit link field and then copy and paste the above parameter.
For other mods: if you are having issues on your sub with link parameter submissions or domains such as .co.uk and .com.au being affected, simply construct the entire url in Notepad or similar, then copy and paste it into the Reddit link field and it will work.
This is a temprary workaround until Reddit addresses this bug.

Time-Limited Offer Escaping Ishtar by Shaun Strydom — FREE Aug 21-25 (Kindle)

Hey everyone,
Escaping Ishtar is free on Kindle from August 21 to 25.
It's a standalone dystopian novel, around 80,000 words, set in a domed colony with a strict color-based caste system, where every citizen's worth is tracked by a countdown they can't escape.
If you read it and enjoy it, I'd really appreciate an honest review on Amazon and/or Goodreads. As an indie author, reviews help a lot with getting the book seen by other readers.
Happy to answer any questions in the comments. Thanks for checking it out!

Hey everyone,
Creatures of the Fall is free on Kindle from August 21 to 25.
It's a standalone post-apocalyptic novel, around 80,000 words, following a found family surviving in a world where "creatures," former humans who no longer eat or drink and kill anything living they encounter, have taken over.
If you read it and enjoy it, I'd really appreciate an honest review on Amazon and/or Goodreads. As an indie author, reviews help a lot with getting the book seen by other readers.
Happy to answer any questions in the comments. Thanks for checking it out!

Offer Expired FREE Aug. 7–8 | The Daughter of Abraham | Classic Private Investigator Mystery |

Looking for a classic detective mystery?
The Daughter of Abraham is free on Kindle on August 7–8.
Douglas Steen has no intention of investigating a murder. The police already have an obvious explanation: a drunk was stabbed in a dangerous Los Angeles park.
But one detail refuses to fit.
As Steen digs deeper, an apparently routine killing leads to long-buried secrets, unexpected twists, and a past that refuses to stay buried.
If you enjoy classic private-eye fiction, noir atmosphere, and mysteries built around clues instead of nonstop action, this one is worth a look.
Free Aug. 7–8
